Tendon

On Tuesday 1.mar.22, we ordered 3 deliveries and he took lunch and bread over to the Elderlies.

*** Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice stall ***

11 am - I ate a small bowl of this pork ribs noodles for brunch. He ate the remaining portion for dinner. I didn't eat the chunky pork ribs at all, just ate the flat broad wheat noodles which taste good because they soak up the flavourful braised meat gravy.

10.26 am - we shared this roast chicken, siew yuk and char siew rice for brunch. I added one braised hard boiled egg. Acceptable taste. The soup provided is boiled using pork bones so he drank it all as it is yummy!

12 noon - I bought an extra portion of rice for him to eat with the remaining chicken rendang from the previous day.

Bought from this eatery because it popped up in the PandaBox window.

*** Yang Kee restaurant OUG ***

He kept this mixed beef noodles for the next day breakfast. I ordered wrongly as usually we buy the dry version but I bought the soup version so it arrived in this two layered container with the soup beneath the noodles layer. I bought 3 packs of exactly the same item as 2 packs are for the Elderlies' lunch.

I ordered a beef tendon dish and scooped out half for the Elderlies lunch. The gravy is flavourful and the tendons are springy, QQ.

Used the Brunch promo code to get max MYR 7.50 nett off.

*** Wholemeal bread ***

Bought massimo wholemeal bread for the Elderlies and filled up the order with crackers which is on offer at MYR 4.42 each when the usual price is MYR 4.80 in supermarkets. I used mart30 promo code to get a discount.

Two Har Mee

Saturday 22.jan.22 is a day to supply the Elderlies with both lunch and dinner.

5.35 pm - he cooked rice and lettuce and ordered two dishes for the Elderlies so that all 3 of them ate dinner together.

Grab the above items for dinner.

Prawn noodles, one pack for each elderlies' lunch.

11.40 am - we shared this lunch of remaining food from the fridge.

Knuckles Tendon

On Wednesday 19.jan.22, we ordered delivery for ourselves.

*** Jazz Cafe ***

11.23 am - vinegar trotter rice at MYR 14 nett. The gravy doesn't look thick but the taste is good enough. The meat can be softer so the Elderlies wouldn't like this.

Thursday 20.jan.22 9.02 am - wanton noodles from the previous day bought from Jazz Cafe. Taste ok.

Didn't take photo of the braised pork rice eaten as dinner on Wednesday. Used extraong promo code to get MYR 10 off.

*** Rue Ee ***

The elderlies' favourite dish - knuckles and tendon dish at MYR 39 nett. No delivery, just arrange for own pickup. Just bought it for our own consumption because kid1 will buy this dish for the Elderlies occasionally.

This is the dish - the top most dish on this menu page.

This is the restaurant Rue Ee. I think I only have had dinner in this restaurant once back in February 2020 before the pandemic started.

Kuan Soo Beef Noodles

On Wednesday 29.dec.21, we ate the remaining food bought yesterday and bought one food delivery from Good Taste.

12.49 noon - direct from the fridge, the beef broth has solidified to be like jelly and there are lots of leaf celery aka Nan ling celery aka daun sup on top of the kway teow or hor fun. He doesn't like to eat daun sup that much due to the strong taste. He prefers coriander aka cilantro.

1.16 pm - to loosen up the cake of cold kway teow or hor fun, I heat up the beef broth using the microwave and put the noodle cake inside and then pull the cake apart using a fork and a spoon.

1.19 pm - done, the noodles are loose.

1.24 pm - There are 6 pieces of meat tendon, 3 pieces of tendon, 2 pieces of beef balls, 2.5 pieces of radish, 1 piece tripe and 1 piece of an unknown item in the tendon beef noodles. This pack of tendon beef noodles costs MYR 21.90 and another pack of beef balls mihun costs MYR 14.90 nett.

1.28 pm - this is the unknown item. It doesn't look like beef. Do you know what it is?

1.29 pm - The top layer looks like a piece of skin and the texture is a bit hard and springy QQ.

1.29 pm - the texture is quite similar to meat but is much more springy QQ.

1.10 pm - the hardened beef oil, yellow like butter. Lucky for me that they are easy to remove from the broth in their solidified form.

1.04 pm - I bought another pack of noodles which is beef balls meehoon. There are 9 beef balls and one piece of radish. I kept 8 beef balls and half the tendon beef ingredients in the fridge for the next day. Too much for me to eat all in one single day as he doesn't want to eat these beef noodles.

The above two noodles are bought from this uncle kuan or kuan Soo stall in ICC Pudu Food Court.

11.22 am - his lunch of mihun from my beef noodles, Penang prawn Mee broth, pork balls from Good Taste and he added in the lettuce.

4.30 pm - ordered his dinner and the next day's breakfast. Nice that can still use the feastkv promo code to get MYR 8 off.

12.07 noon - I had to clear this little remaining bak kut teh portion from the fridge. As the bkt has solidified, I ate it cold. The bkt broth jelly is very tasty 😋

After googling for an answer, I think I know what the unknown item is. Please take a guess.

Up to 50% Off Trio Snacks

One Friday evening, we walked past Mak's Chee at Midvalley Mall and saw a promo for 3 snacks from 11 June to 10 July 2019 on weekdays excluding public holidays. As I am seldom out in the evening during weekdays, we seized the opportunity to have dinner together and to take advantage of this promo.

The terms and conditions stated that 2 to 4 persons can only order 1 promo snack, 5 to 8 persons can only order 2 promo snacks and 9 persons and above can order all 3 promo snacks. As there are 3 of us, we can only order 1 promo snack so we decided to order promo 352 (large).

The plate of plain rice is not listed in the menu but the staff said we could order it. We did not ask for the price so we did not know the price until we saw the bill. The price for it is MYR 3++ (10% service tax and 6% SST = MYR 3.48 nett).

The promo large portion of braised beef brisket and tendon costs MYR 22.90++ (MYR 26.56 nett). The staff asks if we would like to swap the brisket or tendon with tripe or have all 3 but we politely said no to tripe. It seems that they now serve braised tripe which is not printed on their menu yet.

I ordered a small portion of sui gao dumplings (2) and prawn wantons (3) at MYR 15.90++ (MYR 18.44 nett) and a bottle of milk tea placed in a bucket of ice at MYR 8.50++ (MYR 9.86 nett) which I shared with my friends. Next time I will just order the prawn wantons because I like them better than the sui gao dumplings.

My friend had this large portion of broad wanton noodles in broth at MYR 17.90++ (MYR 20.76 nett). The sui gao dumplings and wantons are hidden underneath the noodles.

The braised beef briskets and tendons look messy but taste fine. We could not finish them so we took the balance home in our own container.

Total is MYR 79.10 nett for 3 pax, an average of MYR 26.40 per pax which is quite ok.

GS After 2 years

It was back in March 2016 when I noticed a long queue outside this new eatery in One Utama. Now that the 3rd branch has opened in Midvalley Mall, I went there for brunch as they are now offering a discount of 15% until 8 July 2018.

Prawn Roe Dry Thin noodles (small portion) with Sui Gao dumplings (hidden underneath the noodles) at MYR 16.90+ (10% service charge = MYR 18.59 nett but after 15% off now it is just MYR 15.80 nett). The prawn roe has a fragrant roasted shrimp taste and the soup has the nice taste of dried fish.

Two small bowls of broad noodles with beef tendons (soup) at MYR 13.90+ and MYR 14.90+ (with sui gao dumplings). The noodles are on the firm side (al dente).

A small portion of dry noodles with beef tendon and wanton dumplings (MYR 14.90+). The noodles are mixed with beef tendon gravy. The beef tendons are soft, full of collagen and tasty.

Both the wanton and sui gao dumplings have whole prawns in them with the sui gao having mushrooms fillings too. I will be back to have more of them as they are very delicious.

A cup of hot milk tea. Smooth.

Total bill for 4 pax after 15% discounts and 10% service charge is MYR 61.25 nett.

Mak's Chee at Midvalley Mall with the 15% off signboard which caught my attention.

Sign above the entrance.

Busy cooking the noodles.

We did not see the imported chili oil and chili sauce mentioned in the menu anywhere and did not ask about them because I do not feel that the noodles needed the chili oil and sauce since they are tasty.
