On Monday 29.apr.2024, bought 2 tyres 499 ish. Then went to hou's kopitiam taman continental for brunch.

11.08 am - My iced salted butter coffee MYR 5 nett. His iced cham MYR 4. Shared a bowl of prawn noodles with one big sang har MYR 33.90 nett. Total 42.90 nett.

1.50 pm - 3 combo meat MYR 16 nett from New Lian Hin eatery. His early dinner.

11.41 am - New Lian Hin eatery.

3.13 pm - ate the remaining half avocado with wholemeal bread and finished up all the remaining cakes from the previous day.

Choy Sum Replace Noodles

On Sunday 28.apr.2024, went to Taman Desa for chapfan no rice brunch.

10.13 am - pork noodles without noodles MYR 9 nett so the seller gave lots of choy sum to in place of the noodles. I helped him to eat the choy sum as he says it is too much for him.

12 noon - on the way back to the car, I got distracted by the items at the pastry shop and bought MYR 24.80 nett worth of items:

1. A pack of mung bean pastry MYR 6.80 nett

2. One red mung bean angku

MYR 1.40 nett but is MYR 1.20 nett when two types of kuih are also bought so I bought 

3. Green brown layers kuih 

4. Chu yap ban kuih with jicama fillings which is savoury and a bit sweet

Other items:

5. Red bean hotplate pancake 

6. Banana cake 1 slice

7. 1 pandan cupcake

8. 1 slice ma lai go

9. 1 slice egg sponge cake

10. 2 mochi with peanuts sugar fillings in 1 pack

12.32 noon - this is the green brown layer kuih. Initially when I ate it, I thought the brown layer has coffee taste but later I thought it may be gula melaka taste. The green layer definitely has pandan taste. Later when I asked him, he also thought it may be coffee or gula melaka when he ate a bit of it. So I guess need to buy again to taste it properly on next Sunday.

On Saturday 27.apr.2024, it was between Swee heng and hou's kopitiam. Round the area 3 to 4 times but couldn't find a parking space so gave up and went to Swee heng.

9.45 am - cham ping MYR 3 nett which I drank half. Trotter wat tan noodles dry.

9.49 am - hand torn pan mee soup with meat slices instead of minced meat.

11.32 am - MYR 20 nett worth of siew yuk and steamed chicken meat for his very early dinner.

Bkt Soon Kee Food Court

On Friday 26.apr.2024, went to Soon Kee Food Court jalan perisa 1 to try out their bkt stall.This food court used to be called Mun Kee Seafood and we noticed that it has changed the name to Soon Kee Food Court on 21.jul.2023 when we passed by the area.

10.54 am - we shared a plate of ckt petai and cham ping for brunch.

11.09 am - after eating his share of ckt petai, he crossed the road and went to eat siew yuk char siew without rice MYR 10 nett at Canton-Z. I ate two pieces of siew yuk.

4.30 pm - we shared the bkt from soon kee Food Court for early dinner.  The bkt broth is on the sweet side, doesn't have dong guai taste, has strong herbs taste. He says he can taste goji and tang seng. I drank all the remaining bkt broth and ate some meat.

On Thursday 25.apr.2024, went to pavilion bukit jalil for brunch.

11.40 am - the toasts kaya butter is still considered by me to be the best that I have eaten. This time, the kaya seems too liquidus till it flows out from the toasts. Total price is about MYR 40. Then he went to Daiso to buy some items.

He also ordered 1 sesame paste pastry.

Amusing Day

On Wednesday 24.apr.2024, we went to Golden chopsticks for brunch but it was having its off day so we went to Pak Kopi Kaw eatery a few shops away.

10.53 am - he selected all the food. He ordered two meat combo platter with char siew and chicken roast meat because he thought no rice is included but it was delivered with rice so both of us shared the rice and finished eating it.

11.01 am - he ordered cham ping drink and dry wanton noodles with fish cakes but dry wanton noodles with chicken chop was delivered to our table instead. We just accepted the noodles without making a fuss that it was not what he ordered because we find it amusing that our day and food was planned for us. 

Total price for 3 items is MYR 27.20 nett.

11.24 am - shop front of Pak Kopi Kaw eatery.

At about 4 pm, we went to cash converter to sell some items and got 350 for them. Planned to go to Bolton Teochew Braised Duck Taman Midah for dinner as this stall only starts operating at 4.30 pm. Luckily we checked online and found it is stated as closed on Wednesday so we went to pinnacle condo instead for early dinner as I was very, very hungry.

5.11 pm - he ordered cham ping drink MYR 6.9++, pork mixed innards soup instant noodles MYR 15.5++ and a bowl of prawn sui gao aka dumplings MYR 12.5++ for sharing by the two of us. Total price is about MYR 40.50 nett.

After that he bought bananas, bread and sweet potatoes from pinnacle supermarket.

Clear Food Day

On Tuesday 23.apr.2024, went to nearby million ocean coffee shop for brunch and for early dinner, finished up all the bkt and livers from the previous day.

8.40 am - we shared one cham ping drink MYR 3 nett and one bowl of pork mixed innards mihun horfun soup. He added extra deep fried pork lard from home to the noodles.

3 pm - he cooked all the siew bok choy vege and put it into the remaining bkt liver soup. This is my portion. There are substantial amount of livers and iberico meat to fill us up nicely for early dinner.

Oyster Blade Steak

On Monday 22.apr.2024, ate brunch at Red Kettle Garden Mall again. He cooked frozen iberico bkt for his early dinner.

12 noon - my oyster blade steak medium rare MYR 69.90++ to celebrate 🥂 25 years since rom. There are 6 slices of beef, one slice has been eaten at the time of the above photo. Tasty 😋 

My cold brew coffee drink MYR 16.90++ and his hot flat white drink MYR 13.90++

11.51 am -  his Porkie rice bowl MYR 27.90++ which contains an onsen egg. The rice is soft which I like, I helped him finished up the remaining rice. The gravy is made up of onions with tomatoes.

1.38 pm - since we are still full and only wanted some sweet food to wrap up our lunch, we ordered nangka chocolate with ice cream MYR 25++ and a cup of hot flat white MYR 12++ to share between the two of us.

2.08 pm - the dessert menu. I wanted to order Ai Yu Peng but it wasn't available.

Asparagus

On Sunday 21.apr.2023, didn't go out at all. He cooked the food he bought from the supermarket on Saturday.

9.21 am - grilled asparagus. Very tasty 😋 I like to eat grilled asparagus.

9.22 am - his sunny side up eggs, pork belly bacon, pumpkin, mushrooms in the pan. Crispy pork lard in the small bowl and pork lard oil in the glass container.

9.22 am - he fried an egg with fully cooked egg yolk for me.

3 pm - my brunch of the food he cooked. Very tasty 😋 I ate the fried egg with whole meal bread. I also ate the remaining tea egg, Bunn Choon pastries and Kai Dan Gou.

Red Kettle Garden Mall

On Saturday 20.apr.2024, went for early brunch at lucky garden kopitiam Bangsar coffee shop and then went to the Garden Mall for grocery shopping. Ended up having a heavy lunch at Red Kettle Garden Mall that just opened early April this year. So happy that Red Kettle cafe is now in The Garden Mall so I don't need to go to Starling Mall for it anymore. On the way home, passed some items to my friend.

11.49 am - big Breakfast MYR 49.90++ which has eggs, crispy belly bacon, back bacon, sausage, potato, carrot, pumpkin, corn, mushrooms, salad, toast, french toasts, butter, honey, and tomatoes. The eggs are very tasty. Super worth it.

11.42 am - garlic prawns MYR 33.90++ with lots of herbs so the gravy is very appetising with a bit of spiciness. His hot flat white MYR 13.90++ and my yuzu cold brew coffee MYR 18.90++ which I guess is made by adding sweet yuzu preserves to cold brew coffee so there are yuzu peels in the coffee drink which gives the coffee a very aromatic yuzu citrus sweet taste.

Beerenberg honey is given in its small sealed container for the french toasts.

1.08 pm - total bill is MYR 135.25 nett. Will eat at this cafe again.

From inside The Garden Mall, on the ground floor, just walk towards the north end, heading to twg and godiva kiosks, turn left into a long narrow corridor when customers see the red Kettle sign to go to Red Kettle cafe which is facing the internal road between the Garden Mall and Midvalley Mall. Took us a while to find it. Parking MYR 5 nett from 9.30 am to 2 pm.

8.43 am - cham hot drink and iced cham drink MYR 5.20 nett. 3jc MYR 10 nett. The soup is very peppery so he likes the taste of this soup.

On Friday 19.apr.2023, walked to mrt station and took the mrt train MYR 3.20 nett one way x2 to and fro way to town. Ate:

1. lunch at Lai Fong Lala Noodles Jalan Sultan, then 

2. early tea immediately at Ho Kow Hainam Kopitiam Jalan Balai Polis.

Bought takeaway:

10.57 am - sang har aka fresh water prawns mihun soup MYR 27++ with tasty soup that is a tiny bit spicy with full of aromatic wine. Soft mihun which I like because it is very easy to eat soft mihun.

11 am - sang har aka fresh water prawns sang mee with ginger gravy MYR 29++ for customers who prefer crunchy sang mee.

11.44 am - he went to queue at Ho Kow eatery while I slowly finished up all the food. Look at that pile of prawn shells on the plate. Total price is MYR 65 nett for two types of sang har noodles only. The noodles are served almost immediately after we have placed the order. 😋 Tasty.

10.48 am - quaint entrance to Lai Fong Lala Noodles eatery at Jalan Sultan.

11.48 am - walked past this bakery so went in to buy takeaway cakes. Bright and sunny 😎 ☀️ 🌞 from the transparent roof. Reminds me of miyahara ice cream cafe in TaiChung.

12.01 noon - he queued for about 15 to 20 minutes and he ordered:

1. Half boiled egg curry banjir toast MYR 5.80++

2. Butter kaya toasts MYR 3.60++

3. Cham cold MYR 4.7++ with the tea taste stronger than the coffee taste

4. Cold coffee MYR 4.7++ with strong smokey burnt coffee taste

Total MYR 20.90 nett. Food and drinks are acceptable.

12.30 noon - exposed bricks wall and high ceiling with one giant fan.

12.31 noon - this staircase is way too steep for my 50+ years old legs so I slowly walk step by step down.

Good to see the mrt is put to good use with many passengers. Total transport fees MYR 3.2 nett x 4 eq MYR 12.8 nett without having to endure traffic jams and woes of having to look for parking. Have to walk quite a lot under the hot sun though. Good exercise 😃 💪
