WG Little Sand Kitchen New Menu

Sweet Sour Pork Lunch Set at MYR 12.90+ (10% service charge = MYR 14.19 nett).
Little Sand Kitchen, Jaya 1 has a new set lunch menu and the dishes are very much better than our previous visit there in Nov 2018. The set lunch consists of a main dish, a drink and a dessert of the day. For rice dishes, a foc bowl of soup is included too which is not available for non-rice main dish like noodles in soup.

My order: Curry Chicken Rice Lunch Set at MYR 13.90+ (MYR 15.29 nett).

The foc dessert of the day is red bean kuih which is tasty because it is not very sweet and my foc drink is cold tea.

Black Fungus Braised Pork Rice Lunch Set at MYR 13.90+ (MYR 15.29 nett).

Sweet and Sour Pork Rice Lunch Set at MYR 12.90+ (MYR 14.19 nett).

Total price for 5 pax is MYR 72.05 nett. My friends like the new menu and will return for more set meals.

Oriental Wok Hokkien Mee

Hokkien Mee at MYR 8.50 nett from Oriental Wok (Aeon Food Court in Midvalley Mall). Taste is acceptable but the gravy is not thick enough and the noodles do not seem to melt into the gravy so the Hokkien Mee of Damansara Uptown stall in PopCorn tastes better but unfortunately the stall has closed. In Midvalley Mall, one can still get a tasty plate of Hokkien mee from Kim Lian Kee eatery located near Canton-i restaurant.

Oriental Wok at Aeon Food Court (LG) at Midvalley Mall.

MYR 8.50 nett only so this can be considered a good price since the stall is located in a mall's food court.

LiHo Tea and KakiYuki

Instead of Instea as printed on the renovation boards, Liho Tea from SG is now occupying this shop unit in Midvalley Mall near the entrance from the KTM Komuter station.

Kakigori ice shop, Midvalley/Gardens Mall has rebranded itself as KakiYuki and is renovating the shop lot next to Barcook bakery so that it can move from its current location to the new lot which should be bigger than its existing space.

WG Lunar 8 month 15 day

On this day, my friends will eat vegetarian meals so I just tag along. Fried rice with chopped spinach at MYR 11.90 nett at Five Fingers Organic Grocer. The portion is too small for my friend who is still hungry after finishing her lunch.

Stirfried glass noodles at MYR 11.90 nett. The portion is larger than the fried rice portion and taste good as it is a bit spicy and tangy.

I ordered the dish that my friend had the last time we ate here - Wan Tan Yee Mee at MYR 11.90 nett. The yee mee is thicker than what I am used to and there is a lot of vegetables in the dish: broccoli, cloud ear fungus, napa cabbage, carrot, sugar snap peas, yellow capsicum and cauliflower so I was full halfway through the dish but I forced myself to finish everything on the plate because I was lazy to keep them for later and noodles like this do not keep well.

Total bill for vegetarian dishes is MYR 35.70 nett for 3 pax.

This year, my plan is not to buy any moon cakes but after our lunch, I pass some stalls that are having a promotion of 30% off the regular price of moon cakes because this is the festival day itself (last day) so I bought a box of 4 lotus mooncakes with 4 salted egg yolks in them from oversea brand (haewaytian). The price for one lotus mooncake with 4 salted egg yolks in it is MYR 23.50 nett each but with 30% off, it costs MYR 16.45 nett only so I can't help myself and bought 1 box of 4 for MYR 65.80 nett to share the moon cakes with my friends. So far, I believe locally, only oversea brand has 4 salted egg yolks in one lotus moon cake.

Normal price is MYR 23.50 nett for one lotus moon cake with 4 yolks from Oversea brand.

WG Lamb Lasagna

Ended up at Sunbather Coffee again during a weekday lunch as the majority of the other eateries were fully occupied and we do not want to sit outdoors due to the hazy weather. I ordered this Lamb Lasagna at MYR 27 nett and gave 3 quarter of it away because I was full after eating 1 quarter. I like the lamb taste and the big amount of greens that they put on this lasagna. This dish is only for those who love the strong taste of lamb.

Mushroom and Spinach Lasagna at MYR 25 nett. I was served this lasagna and did not realise that it was not the lamb lasagna so I started cutting it. Then I saw spinach inside and suspected it was the wrong dish but before I could say anything, the staff informed me that they have given me the wrong dish and promptly replace it with the correct one after I confirm that I would prefer to have the lamb instead when asked whether I am ok to just eat this vege lasagna.

Chicken Hambuga at MYR 26 nett. There is a choice of rice or baguette and a choice of curry gravy or demi glaze. The above brown gravy which tastes a bit like marmite according to my friend is the demi glaze. I did not take photo of the plate of plain rice.

Another friend had the same dish but with baguette which is served as above similar to how garlic bread is served at some eateries.

All main meals are accompanied by a bowl of soup foc. We believe the above is potato soup but it is not those creamy kind of potato soup. Tasty enough so all three of us finished drinking the soup.

Total bill for 3 main meals is MYR 79 nett.

A glimpse of the weekdays lunch menu - hambagu (hamburger), sandwiches, big breakfast.

Pasta, Lasagna, Curry Rice and Muffins lunch dishes.

PopCorn Ding Xiang

Pork Noodle at MYR 9.90 nett with liver, pork slices and intestines. The chilli dip is made from chilli, garlic and ginger I believe because it tastes like those chilli dip for chicken rice. The slices of pork are tasty and fresh. We selected mee hoon as the noodle and found that it is thick mee hoon.

Instead of Stall 12, they renamed the stall to stall 12A.

Standard pork noodle. One can select add-ons for a price.

The ala carte menu.

They even sell the chili sauce used by this stall.

Ding Xiang Sang Nyuk Noodle that replaced Siew Kei Pork Noodle at PopCorn Food Court.

After that we adjourned to Warung to drink a glass of nescafe tarik at MYR 4.95 nett.

WG Blonde

Pizza at MYR 35++ (10% service charge and 6% SST = MYR 40.6 nett) and a glass of slow pressed pineapple drink at MYR 15++ (MYR 17.40 nett). The pizza is tasty but I ate only 2 slices and that was enough for me so I kept the other 6 slices for another day. The pineapple drink is to help me digest the pizza.

My friend's Chicken Whole Leg dish at MYR 45++ (MYR 52.20 nett).

Onion rings, One whole chicken leg and mashed potatoes. The brown sauce is a bit spicy which is tasty.

An excerpt from their menu. The chicken dish is listed as "Twice Cooked Grilled Chicken Maryland". I am not sure why it says "twice cooked".

I ordered the 1st pizza on this section of menu above. I think they left out the names of the pizza in this section of the menu.

Total bill for 3 items for 2 pax: MYR 110.20 nett.

Blonde at a building called "The Republik" located in Bukit Damansara. It is a new restaurant by the Group that owns Serai.

McD Strawberry Custard Pie

New McD items for a limited period. Sweet Chilli Fish Burger and Strawberry Custard Pie.

I believe the fish is similar to the fish in McD Thai Fish Burger. The flaky white fish fillet is tasty and crispy on the outside. The sauce is sweet but hot and spicy until my friend cannot stand it but surprisingly I could.

One more McD pie (MYR 3.5 nett) to add to the list of McD pies that I have eaten over the years. I like it because I like the taste of strawberry and I am ok with the custard fillings inside. The two types of fillings do not clash with each other.

Orange McFreeze that is with the Sweet Chilli Fish Burger Set (MYR 14 nett) which also includes a pack of fries (Medium). It is too sweet for me so I just drank one third of it and gave the rest away but I like that it is cold enough for this hot weather.

I also ordered a box of McD Spicy Fried Chicken (2 pieces) at MYR 10.60 nett from the ala carte menu so the total bill is MYR 28.10 nett.

Family Mart Hp app

Dark Chocolate Soft Serve Ice Cream from Family Mart.  Rich Chocolaty Taste.

It is priced at MYR 3.90 nett but it is foc here because it is a birthday reward.

By using the Family Mart Hp App, one could collect points whenever one buys things from Family Mart and also get birthday rewards.

Currently there is 3 flavours available for the soft serve ice cream. I have tried Matcha (MYR 2.90 nett) and now the dark chocolate. Yet to try Hojicha Latte.

A&W Midvalley Mall

Can you spot A&W? It is located at the same floor as the cinema in Midvalley Mall.

It is located above Bankara Ramen and Mikey New York Pizza.

The entrance is next to Starbucks Coffee.

This means I can have my favourite Rootbeer Float every week! I did not take any photos of my food there this time because I was too busy drinking my rootbeer float. I bought a 2-piece original chicken combo at MYR 15.90 nett which includes a medium pack of curly fries and a medium glass of rootbeer. Then I topup MYR 2.40 nett to upgrade the rootbeer into rootbeer float but we drank the rootbeer too fast and left the float so I bought a children's meal at MYR 9.50 nett which consists of 1 toy (jigsaw puzzle), 1 piece chicken, fries and a small cup of rootbeer which I pour into my glass of left-behind vanilla ice cream.
