On Friday 27.jun.2025, went to uptown because it is a public holiday and there are free legal roadside open air under the hot sun parking spaces in front of shops.

8.36 am - nasi lemak chicken berempah MYR 11.90 nett which is a good price 👍 😋 

No queue because it is early.

8.38 am - tasty drinks, kaya butter toasts and eggs, the usual for us. Total price is about MYR 25.xx ish so the price is very good value for 💰 👍 

8.51 am - my portion of rice, the eggs are for him because I don't eat runny eggs.

9.10 am - I brought a very small container with a water proof lid to put the remaining sambal to take the sambal home.

After our breakfast at Say Yes Cafe, we entered Starling mall that just opened at 10 am and walked through the mall to the exit near SkyZen wellness to go to the Not So Secret Garden route 2 that PH introduced because I wanted to show my spouse the garden. Then we walked down the stairs to the shops opposite, we reversed the route PH showed here:

9.39 am - while walking down the stairs, I looked across the road and saw the big red signboard of a shop with the words Singapore Teochew Hawker 

This is the eye catching signboard: Singapore Teochew Hawker. As the eatery that we were walking to, has not opened for the day yet, we went into this Singapore Teochew Hawker eatery because when I was in Singapore I love the eat the clear seaweed soup with Spanish mackerel fish fillets which I couldn't find easily in kl so I was delighted to see that this soup is sold here at this eatery.

9.40 am - walked past these two eateries which look nice so I will try them one day: Hartton Kitchen which is pork free and Inside Ipoh.

9.52 am - very delicious Teochew Or Nee because I don't like pork lard taste and it doesn't have pork lard taste but has a strong yam taro taste 😋 MYR 9.90 nett so we will be back for this dessert.

9.58 am - he ordered bak chor mee soup with mihun kway teow MYR 12.90 nett.

I ordered mackerel soup noodles without noodles and the cashier informed me that it will be the same price MYR 19.90 nett and I replied ok. Both bowls of soup are clear and refreshing. May not be suitable for customers who prefer salty, spicy or sourish soup. Fresh ingredients so taste very good 👍 

10.26 am - all the items in the menu looks good.

I bought takeaway 3 bak Chang at MYR 9.50 nett each for my friend who feedback:

😂 No salty egg yolk no beans no peanuts. Just lots of pork rind pork lard fatty pork and half a chestnut and 6 mini harmi aka dries shrimps.

Very suitable for customers who love pork lard bak Chang.

11.26 am - 2 of 4 Teochew Guang chiang

11.26 am - closer view of the crispy on outside and soft inside yummy deep fried paste with big peanuts inside. They have a sweet 5 spice taste.

11.11 am - there are 4 pieces of Teochew Guang chiang MYR 7 nett but small enough so they are easily eaten without much effort.

11.07 am - no heart as heart is still out of stock so he ordered:

Head skin 7

Knuckle 14

2 duck gizzard 6

Blood cubes 5

11.33 am - total MYR 39 nett. We took the remaining food home for his dinner. On the way home, we stopped by fatty Mok where I bought a pack of mixed congee MYR 9.55 nett for him to eat with these remaining items but he felt too full and didn't eat dinner but he drank Eno because he felt too full. We ate the congee and remaining food the next day. 

After wei Kee, Pitstop at big pharmacy to pick up some items for my friend.

12.21 noon - hot peach gum dessert for him and iced jelly Logan dessert for me. I like the texture of this jelly, very nice 👍

It was drizzling slightly so we ran in the drizzle back into Starling mall where I went to Watson and caring to buy more items for my friend. After that when we walked to our car, it was no longer drizzling and the street was dry.

*** Rollit Starling mall ***

12.59 noon - across caring is rollit kiosk so I bought takeaway beef rendang roti canai roll to try at MYR 15 nett.

After this rollit, I walked to Yin Sourdough and bought 3 loaves of walnut cranberry sourdough bread for my friend. Total for 3 loaves: MYR 41.40 nett.

3.36 pm - looks good. The roti canai is fluffy.

3.42 pm - minced beef potatoes rendang, cucumber, raw cabbage. Cross section.

The rendang is creamy rich in spices but not that spicy.

4.08 pm - at the end, the roll unwrapped itself 😂 

12.57 noon - owned by wealth global f&b sb.

Best Omurice Sri Petaling

On Monday 22.may.2023, didn't go out. Just stayed home, he cooked broccoli and frozen mackerels.

*** Sunday 14.may.2023 ***

Sun 14.may.2023 4.52 pm - The popular good value for money Omurice which is Ichiren No Tamashi stall that is located outside Alison coffee shop in Sri Petaling. We were told there were 40 orders in front of us and need to wait 40 minutes so we didn't buy the omurice as we need to deliver dinner to the Elderlies. They told us that the stall starts operating at 3.30 pm so next time we will be there earlier.

4.52 pm - they deep fry chicken chop and chicken cubes onsite so the food is crispy and warm.

*** Saturday 20.may.2023 ***

3.40 pm - this stall only sells two types of meals:

1. Omurice curry boneless deep fried chicken chop

MYR 12 nett plus MYR 1 nett for takeaway packaging. Total price MYR 13 nett. Customers can choose to dine in.

2. Omurice curry boneless deep fried chicken cubes.

4.08 am - they didn't say anything when we placed one takeaway order for omurice curry boneless deep fried chicken and MYR 13 nett so we thought it would not be a long wait. We noticed the buttercup containers used to keep forks and spoons on the counter while waiting and we thought oh no, they use butter to fry the eggs so he wouldn't be able to eat them so I would have to eat the eggs.

4.08 pm - received our order at about 4.10 to 4.20 pm so we waited for about 30 to 40 minutes. While waiting, he walked to 126 Mixed Rice Sri Petaling to buy chapfan dinner for the Elderlies.

4.47 pm - omurice curry boneless deep fried chicken chop rice MYR 13 nett. The curry is tasty with potatoes in it. He kept the eggs which have a bit of butter taste and half a portion of rice for me for another day as I have already eaten my omad. Overall this meal tastes good so it is really good value for money at MYR 13 nett.

*** Monday 22.may.2023 ***

12.36 noon - as we stayed home the whole day, he cooked the 3 long pieces of frozen mackerel fish and cut them into 6 pieces. He also steamed broccoli we bought on Sunday from giant supermarket. He ate 4 pieces of mackerel and half the broccoli for his lunch. For dinner, he just ate bread with bakwa.

4.01 pm - my omad on monday:

1. Two pieces of mackerel and some broccoli he kept for me

2. Remaining Fries and meat chop from Sunday

3. Remaining Pasadena gravy from Wednesday

4. Remaining Curry gravy, eggs, rice from omurice on Saturday.

Frozen Mackerel

On Wednesday 25.jan.2023, we went to Pavilion Bukit Jalil for food. Reached the mall at 10.20 am and saw that Oriental Kopi has a long queue so we ate brunch at Nanyang Cafe.

 Kid 1 is back so will take care of the Elderlies' lunch. He is on Elderlies' dinner duty.

*** Tuesday 24.jan.2023 ***

10.19 am - he cooked mushrooms wax sausages omelette and asparagus for one Elderly's lunch in a bento with added macadamia nuts and cherry tomatoes. Ordered 3jc soup mihun from kaw kaw pakopi Sri Petaling via Foodpanda delivery.

4.40 pm - he shallow fried frozen Mackerel with turmeric and stir fried frozen seafood mix with carrots and cucumbers for the Elderlies' dinner.

Thursday 4.nov.21 is a public holiday for the festival of lights. He went over with the food we received from Foodpanda delivery. The elderly would rather eat beef meatballs than fish meat balls without knowing one is red meat and one is white meat and which is healthier. Anyway imho, both are processed food so both meat balls cannot be categorized into the healthy section. Imho, just let them eat whatever they like and be happy but he begs to differ. He says he will provide one flavourful lunch alternate with one natural lightly flavoured lunch. So I say "is nasib the elderlies la" that he thinks this way. 😅

11.38 am - he ate this very light broth mackerel slices Mee hoon for lunch and kept some for me.

2.35 pm - my only meal of the day which is the Mee hoon meatballs from his breakfast and the mackerel fish slices Mee hoon from his lunch. I also put in a huge bag of hor fun into the fish soup and ate them all so I was very full after that and I don't need to eat anything else.

Fri 5.nov.21 8.03 am - pepper stomach Mee hoon soup for breakfast from the previous day. Tasty and peppery. Good to see the carrots inside too. 👍

10.44 am - ordered this 6 packs of noodles in soup for the Elderlies, fav kid and ourselves. Not a happy meal for the elderly, just try to be a healthy meal. 😂 Use letsmakan for MYR 8 off.

4.54 pm - his dinner which I didn't eat. He says the bkt soup is the sweet type with less herbs taste. Only Dang Shen taste and no Dong Guai taste. Use taptapkv for MYR 8 off.

This is one to remember. I will be back to visit when more sections are ready.
