 Drinks Tasting Day.

Six types of drinks. This is similar to wine tasting except no wine here but permutations and combinations of tea, coffee, white coffee and cocoa drinks. 😋

All the drinks are not that sweet and the milk used does not have an over powering milky taste so the fragrance of the tea, coffee or cocoa are not covered by the milk taste. These drinks are suitable for those persons who don't like milky taste.

Our order on grabfood delivery. Peniagakecil promo gave us a discount of MYR 5 nett from the delivery fee of MYR 10 nett.

This is the fried chicken in the fried chicken coffee set. It is a boneless chicken chop made from a whole leg of the chicken with crispy peppery coating and juicy tender meat. Highly recommended.

Top: chocolate banana swiss roll at MYR 16.50 nett. 

Bottom: Nanyang coffee swiss roll at MYR 17 nett. Their prices are higher than RT Pastry swiss rolls because these two swiss rolls are denser and heavier.

He can eat both swiss rolls because the cream used are non dairy creams without any milk taste. He prefers the chocolate banana swiss roll due to the fresh banana in the middle of the roll and crunchy chocolate balls similar to the texture of maltesers chocolate balls being embedded throughout the swiss roll.

Into the fridge they all go to wait for our tummies to have space for them again.

The packing checklist by Tian Fang Cafe in Bandar Puchong Jaya. Efficient service as it took less than one hour from the time we placed the order to receiving our items.

*** Tian Fang Partial Menu ***

This Tian Fang has many main dishes such as nasi lemak, Mee Siam, pasta, hainanese chicken chop on their menu but here I will just show the part of their menu with the items that are in my order.

I ordered the fried chicken with coffee set. The price charged is MYR 1 higher for the packaging I believe or because I chose Large portion for coffee. When I copied the screen, it was earlier than their opening hours so I get the messages "This restaurant is temporarily closed" and "unavailable" in the screen above. The distance is 14.8 km away from my place.

Of the 4 available swiss rolls in the list, I ordered two of them.

Of the 7 non soft drinks on the menu, we ordered 6 drinks to taste.

The drink that we didn't order is Teh Tarik.

*** Sepetang Nasi Lemak Day ***

Sunday is our Sepetang Nasi Lemak day. This coffee shop only allows 3 customers to queue for the nasi Lemak inside the shop. If you are customer number 4, you need to queue outside the shop and go in only when one customer is done with the order and exits the coffee shop.

This is my usual nasi lemak with a small portion of rice at MYR 7 nett. The bittergourd, soyknot and egg tofu are from the chap fan below.

I also bought chap fan takeaway from Tuck Tuck Tei economy rice shop a few units away from Sepetang coffee shop. This chap fan aka economy rice costs MYR 7.50 nett with one pork chop, bitter gourd, soy knots, egg tofu and a small portion of rice. Two of us shared this rice dish as dinner.

*** Are You Ready for Full Lockdown ? ***

After seeing the long queues at various supermarkets in online photos and videos, I placed an order for delivery from Aeon Supermarket in Taman Maluri to be received on Sat 29.may.21 between 5 pm to 7 pm. Unfortunately they couldn't make it on Sat so I was informed that the delivery slot for me is changed to Sun 30.may.21 from 11 am to 1 pm. 

8 minutes to 1 pm, my order was delivered without 3 items that are out of stock. I wonder will the system automatically refund the amount of these 3 items to me since they are out of stock. Will find out from Aeon customer service personnel afterwards.

The above eggs and oats are for the elderlies.

These two swiss rolls from Tian Fang Cafe and budget banana cake from Aeon Supermarket delivery are for us two.

Oops, I think I may have bought too many packs of bread and buns so will be giving away the two loaves of bread to my friend.

TY Tea 2Gether

 There is a new eatery in Esplanad, Bukit Jalil. I believe it is occupying the shoplot where Mallikas Restaurant used to be located. To think I have never eaten at Mallikas and wanted to buy food from there after reading NuxV's article in Dec 2020.

I bought 3 egg tarts, 1 pork siew Bao, 1 kaya puff, 1 chan bao and a cup of Hainan coffee as takeaway from this new shop. Egg tarts costs MYR 2.30 nett each and hainan coffee costs MYR 4.50 nett. The pastry crust of the egg tart has artificial butter taste.

This is the chan bao with char siew fillings inside. Quite tasty. Price is MYR 2.80 nett.

Kaya puff and pork siew Bao at MYR 2.30 nett each. The pork siew Bao has more meat than fats in it so it is in the can buy again category.

The kaya puff has flaky layered pastry skin. The pandan kaya filling is tasty. Not sure what are the main dishes of this new eatery because I didn't look at the menu.

Total bill is MYR 18.80 nett. The name of this new eatery is TY Tea 2Gether.

We bought this roast meat rice at friendship cafe - 3 types roast meat at MYR 11 nett. siew yuk, char siew and siew kai. Quite decent.

Lamb Belly

This is the lamb main dish in Entier 3-course meal. The description in the menu says: Braised lamb belly, ratatouille, zucchini, mustard pickle, and parsley puree.

The food is presented very nicely in this biodegradable plate. The green parsley puree is all natural colours from the parsley.

The main dish is carefully wrapped with cling film.

I think lamb poitrine means lamb belly.

The gravy in the small container tastes of lamb but I didn't use it. Same photo as the top most photo here.

Side view. The thin strips of zucchini are arranged on top of the food to form a pretty pattern.

Underneath the zucchini strips is ratatouille, a french stewed vegetables dish. I couldn't taste the exact Vegetables in this ratatouille but there are tomatoes for sure.

Underneath the ratatouille layer is the lamb belly which has been braised until very tender. A tasty and nicely presented dish. The portion is just right for a small eater.

Moorthys Mathai Brickfields

Since we were in the vicinity to pick up our order from Entier at Alila Bangsar, we also dropped by a coffee shop in Brickfields which is near Alila Bangsar on Wed 26.may.21 to buy banana leaf rice and pork noodles.

12.47 noon - His lunch of fish banana leaf rice bought from Moorthy's Mathai stall at Money's Corner Food Court. He chose pineapple cucumber and cabbage as the two side dishes and for gravy, he chose fish curry. He couldn't finish it so I have to help with a few tablespoonfuls of the side dishes and a quarter of the fish.
 

I also ordered Mutton curry and fish cutlet but was given a fried ball that looks like a begedil. These two items I gave to my friend.

My friend sent me this photo of the fried ball after it has been cut to show the insides. The ball is made of fish and potatoes.

I googled and found this recipe of fish cutlets. So fish cutlets are deep fried balls made of fish, potatoes, shallots and eggs. I didn't know this when I selected 1 fish cutlet using a food delivery app with the self pickup option.

Our order - fried fish banana leaf rice at MYR 14 Nett, fish cutlet at MYR 4 nett and mutton curry at MYR 12 nett. Total is MYR 30 nett.

This is the Money's Corner Food Court, Brickfields with very few people around at 11.48 am. This food court is also known as Mayflower coffee shop.

We also ordered Peter's pork noodle MYR 7.50 nett which is another popular stall in the same coffee shop. He ate this pork yee mee for dinner at 7 pm. I was full from eating Entire main dish so I didn't eat this pork yee mee at all.

Canton Kitchen Delivery

One of the elderlies birthday falls on Tue 25.may.21 so we ordered food delivery for them.

Broccoli with small scallops stirfried with garlic.

This dish is for us as they are not supposed to eat prawns. We ordered salted egg yolk prawns but the prawns dish we received is mayo sesame mustard prawns which is equally tasty so we are ok with the change though the receipt still says salted egg yolk prawns.

Egg tofu with bits of long bean and choy poh and very little minced meat which is fine by me. This is my dish so I didn't pour the soy sauce gravy provided for this dish into the container before I eat the tofu because I like to eat it dry, without any gravy.

Fried rice with shrimps. This dish is for us.

This napa cabbage braised with dry scallops dish is the favourite dish of the elderly. I would prefer the napa cabbage to be softer.

Ginger, spring onions stirfried with grouper fish slices. 

Sweet sour pork aka ku Lou yuk.

Papaya soup with pork ribs. One of my friends would always order this soup when she eats at this restaurant. There is another dish in my order but I didn't take any photo of the it because we have not eaten the chicken wine soup yet. It went straight into the fridge when we received it.

Total bill for 9 dishes is MYR 202.94 nett inclusive of delivery fees making it an average price of about MYR 22.6 per dish.
