Choon Prawn Mee House

Someone told me that this place serves authentic Penang Prawn Mee so I went to have a try. The owner used to run a Prawn Mee stall in O & S Restaurant, Paramount Garden, PJ.

Prawn Mee with pork ribs and intestines - MYR12 -the prawns are quite small but overall this prawn mee is very flavourful and spicy. You can choose to have the basic prawn mee for MYR6.5 only.

We ordered a bowl of barley bean curd sheet egg dessert and we thought that the egg has been mixed into the barley water but to our surprise it was half of an hard boiled egg in the dessert - MYR3.5

I ordered the basic cham lor (MYR6.5) meaning prawn mee broth mixed with Penang lor mee broth so the broth was dark in colour and the taste was more on the sweet side, not so spicy as the prawn mee. The broth was very thick and included a lot of deep fried onion.

Chilli and garlic dips - this condiment tastes sourish - vinegar or lime juice perhaps?

Shop front

Prices are nett and it is located at 13 Jalan 20/14, Taman Paramount, Petaling Jaya (same row as O&S)
