Happy Mother's Day!

Here's wishing everyone who is a mother a very happy Mother's Day! May your children show their appreciation for you everyday and especially on this day. For those with young children, may the father of your children teach them how to show their appreciation for you, their mother so that they know how to do it themselves when they grow up.

We took my mother for a simple meal on this day as this was what she wanted. Most of the dishes were chosen by her.

Steamed salted egg yolk layered cake - MYR4.80 for 2 pieces in a bamboo basket. This cake is very tasty with the rich taste of the salted egg yolk and coconut shavings. It is fluffy when eaten warm and is not too sweet. I will definitely eat this again.

BBQ Pork Bao - MYR4.80

Steamed fish maw dim sum - photo above showing one serving - MYR7.80 - we ordered two servings of this (MYR15.60). This dish was rather salty and the fish maw was not as much as shown in the photo in the menu. We also ordered a portion of pan fried radish cake - MYR6.80 and I have forgotten to take its photo.

A glass of hot drink - barley with dates and a bit of ginger - MYR5 and the total bill came up to MYR42.90 after 10% service charge and 6% gov. tax. We returned the unused and unopened tissue packets to the Canton-i cashier and were not charged for them.
