Savoury glutinous rice dumpling - MYR5
After removing the bamboo leaves
The dumpling has been wrapped tightly and cooked for a long time so it was diffficult to separate the glutionous rice from the other ingredients. This savoury dumpling has black eyed beans instead of mung beans. I like to eat both beans but I have not seen a dumpling with both type of beans in it.
There is quite a fair bit of salted egg yolk here. Other ingredients inside are pork meat, chinese mushrooms, and chestnuts.
Can you guess what this is? I have to remove all these carefully with my chopsticks because I don't like to eat these and most of them have kind of melted into the glutinous rice. After eating one dumpling, I was very full as it was quite big and the glutinous rice was very filling.
I love bak chang! I love both the salty type and the sweet one~

DeleteRM5 not bad leh. I see quite a lot of liu. Now one salted eggs already 80-90sens.
ReplyDeleteThis one is bought ftom morning market so price is better than those sold in supermarkets and restaurants.
DeleteI love bak chang, unfortunately I do not know how to make my own. Outside ones mostly come with alot of fat meat :(
