Sweet Salad

The Organic Harvest - MYR13.90 nett. I did not feel like eating rice nor noodles for lunch so I ordered salad and selected passion fruit dressing instead of sesame dressing when I joined my co-workers for lunch at BMS Organics again. Passion fruit dressing is a good choice because of its tart and refreshing taste but I think something was added to make the dressing sweet too because I have never eaten a passion fruit that tastes as sweet as this dressing. Even though it is tart, I can still taste the sweetness of the dressing. Would prefer it to be not sweet and just tart.

A close-up look at the salad - okra, baby tomatoes, diced cucumbers, carrots, green apples, avocado slices, some oat crisps and raisins. The avocado slices are so creamy and rich, just so delicious. Truth be told, I could have made this salad myself at home but not with organic vegetables and I find it difficult to select nice ripe avocados that are not overripe. Sometimes the avocados that I bought just won't ripen. In the end, I gave up buying avocados and just eat out when I feel like eating avocados.

Once we have placed our orders, we were served a tiny cup of hot ginger sugary drink each on the house as can be seen in the photo above. I also ordered a bowl of purple sweet potatoes with white fungus dessert at MYR4.90 nett as an add-on item. The usual price is MYR7.90 nett when ordered as an ala carte item.

A plate of okra with sesame dressing to share at MYR8 nett (add-on price). The usual price is MYR10.90 nett.

My friend ordered ginger mee suah with sesame oil - MYR16.90 nett with an add-on dessert of double boiled sweet pear delight at MYR4.90 nett (usual price is MYR7.90 nett).

Bill for 4 pax is MYR110.20 nett. I did not take a photo of my friend's soy milk curry laksa noodle but she mentioned that she was surprised at the saltiness level which is higher than what she expected. The food here is advertised as healthy food but even when they taste not as sweet and not as salty as some food I have eaten at other places but I still think they ought to lower the sweetness and the saltiness of their food here to be healthier.

  1. I've actually eaten their soy milk curry and loved it. It wasn't too salty for me. Is it possible to request for them to lower down the sweetness or saltiness according to your preference?

  3. Our own salad dressing at home is a little sweet - can vary according to one's preference - more salad cream would mean it would be more sour.

    1. yes making your own you can adjust the taste of the dressing to your preference so it is better to make at home.

  6. I'm glad you had this salad and shared it here. I was very attracted to it when I saw the menu but I refrained because the portion is quite small for me. If the dressing is too sweet, then I won't like it.

    1. the portion is not enough for you if you order this as a main meal. i don't think you will find the passion fruit dressing too sweet, it is just sweet and tangy/tart. perhaps you can choose the sesame dressing instead.

  10. The salad is pretty. I didn't know okra could be put into salad - it's raw ya?

Agree with you on avocado! I've thrown soo many away for being either under- or over-ripe.
