Full moon giftbox

My co-worker's baby is one month old so we were all given a box of full-moon delights each for lunch that contains half a roasted honey chicken, two red hard boiled eggs, some pickled ginger slices and 2 angkus with coconut and peanuts fillings. Food is quite tasty.

The giftbox meal is ordered from here. I checked the price for this option and it is stated as MYR15.60 but I am not sure whether it is the latest price or not.

  2. That's lovely. I did hear they give ang koo but not the Foochow practice. We give mee sua and chicken soup and red eggs to immediate next of kin - friends and colleagues can come to the house and eat...and when they leave, they will be given eggs - these days, they do not cook the eggs, let them take home and do what they want with them.

  4. Now so convenient purchase fullmoon gifts, not like last time, when you need to prepare and cook. Lol. I only ordered the fullmoon gifts for Jamie when in Sibu. From bakery so it was some cake, egg and other stuff. For Jan and Jay, my confinement lady cooked kacangma and eggs to friends and relatives.

  6. This is nice. For both of my kids, we give out gift boxes like this too but we ordered from Ayamas as the outlet is nearby our place.

  7. the chicken looks huge! RM15.60 for a 'half chicken' gift box is so value for money. My few colleagues also ordered their fullmoon gift box from this supplier as the box design are similar.

    1. erh, the chicken is quite thin to be honest. without rice some of my co workers were still hungry after eating the half chicken. i guess this supplier is popular because their gift box is value for money and tasty too.

  8. These days the full moon food delivery is made easier! Gone were the days when the mother in laws had to cook curry chicken with nasi kunyit, red eggs and ang koo kuehs! The son had to drive his mother from house to house to deliver and collect red packets. That was a common practice in Penang when I was a small kid. I think the old traditions will be totally gone.
I prefer to have honey roasted chicken than curry chicken with nasi kunyit! LOL
