Max Gourmet Penang

We wanted to eat at Max Gourmet again after our previous trip there and so we did. Since I was on a holiday and did not pay for the food, I did not write down the exact prices so the prices here are what I could remember.

Steamed grouper fish slices with hor fun in rather sweet soy sauce - about MYR17. Tastes good but I prefer the one I ate at Wong Chau Jun, Penang.

Stir fried hor fun sea food. Taste better than its look.

Siew Mai - when we were there, they were having a promotion for siew mai at a special price MYR2.10 so we ordered it.

Chives dumpling - about MYR3.20

Lots of chives inside

Squid mai (squid dumplings) - about MYR3

Lotus Leaf Glutinous Rice - about MYR4.30 - we were too full then so we took it home in the container that we brought from home.

  2. I particularly like the grouper fish slices with hor fung. I take your word that the sea food hor fun tasted better than it looked. It's rather messy.

  5. Mun, is that Maxim or Max Gourmet? It has been some time since I last went to Maxim... or maybe two different shops altogether?

    2. I won't, you're right. But they do have an outlet in Gurney Plaza, which I do go to from time to time (due to Cold Storage)...

    3. Maybe the offer is just for this outlet.

  12. Thought the first dish was CCF. Looks yummy but since you say it's sweet, probably not to my taste also.
