Steamed egg with vegetables in a hot pot. We did not order this. It was on the house (foc).
Side View.
Unlike chinese style steamed eggs, this steamed egg is not smooth and silky. It is firm like tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelette). I like it apart from the fact that it is too salty.
Steamed Egg with vegetables in Hot Pot - MYR14.80 ++ so the owner is very generous to give us this dish on the house (foc).
For 4 pax, the bill came up to MYR134.30 nett after 10% service charge and 6% GST. Tomorrow I will post the main dishes that we ordered.
I prefer chinese style steam egg which is soft
ReplyDeleteSoft is easier to eat.
DeleteSoft taste nice and smoother too
DeleteSmoother is right!
DeleteI would probably return it if it's too salty.
ReplyDeleteGood move!
DeleteI also like Libby. Prefer smoother silky steamed custard.
ReplyDeleteGuess smooth is easier to swallow.
DeleteMaybe they used too high flame. See it's all risen like a souffle.
ReplyDeleteSouffle is very soft. This is not.
DeleteYou order four main course ma... I think nowadays Korean restaurants in Penang mostly adopt this kind of freebie culture. As long as you order main course, they will give free appetizer (on top of the default banchan). I guess business is tough these days...
ReplyDeleteI think only in Penang. Don't think in kl we get freebies.
DeleteYou are so lucky to get free Steamed egg with vegetables and discount!! How did you do it? *wink *wink *wink
ReplyDeleteNot me. My friend ate there before so got a voucher for discount.
DeleteNot bad, they gave extra bowl of rice with steamed eggs some more.. .
ReplyDeleteJust steamed eggs no extra bowl of rice.
DeleteThe Korean BBQ restaurant at Section 14 (above a corner coffee shop) also serves this steamed egg as one of their banchan. Unfortunately, I don't like it.
ReplyDeleteYou prefer smooth ones too I guess.
Deleteeh...so special got free dish....hmnnn how to get it?
ReplyDeleteYou go penang eat Korean food you will get it.
DeleteI thought it was steamed rice with egg. After reading only I know it was steamed egg with rice. Too bad it was salty.
ReplyDeleteThere is no rice inside the steamed egg. Just some vegetables.
DeleteHey, I missed this one? Dunno if I would like this, for one thing, I am not all that into Korean. I liked their omelette though.
ReplyDeleteI like their omelette too but this is very different from their omelette. I prefer Korean omelette to this steamed egg.
