Gyeran Jjim

Steamed egg with vegetables in a hot pot. We did not order this. It was on the house (foc).

Side View.

Unlike chinese style steamed eggs, this steamed egg is not smooth and silky. It is firm like tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelette). I like it apart from the fact that it is too salty.

Steamed Egg with vegetables in Hot Pot - MYR14.80 ++ so the owner is very generous to give us this dish on the house (foc).

For 4 pax, the bill came up to MYR134.30 nett after 10% service charge and 6% GST. Tomorrow I will post the main dishes that we ordered.

  2. I would probably return it if it's too salty.

  3. I also like Libby. Prefer smoother silky steamed custard.

  4. Maybe they used too high flame. See it's all risen like a souffle.

  5. You order four main course ma... I think nowadays Korean restaurants in Penang mostly adopt this kind of freebie culture. As long as you order main course, they will give free appetizer (on top of the default banchan). I guess business is tough these days...

  8. The Korean BBQ restaurant at Section 14 (above a corner coffee shop) also serves this steamed egg as one of their banchan. Unfortunately, I don't like it.

    1. There is no rice inside the steamed egg. Just some vegetables.

    1. I like their omelette too but this is very different from their omelette. I prefer Korean omelette to this steamed egg.
