Pulut kuning beef rendang (Turmeric glutinous rice with beef cooked with spices and coconut milk) - MYR9.90+ 6% GST which is MYR10.50 nett. While the price stays the same, the portion now is much smaller. You can compare this with the one I had at the end of last year. The glutinous rice portion is less and there is only 2 cubes of beef in the bowl. To be fair, this dish is listed under snacks so that is why the portion is small since it is supposed to be a snack.
Nasi Goreng Selasih (the Malay language) MYR21.70+ 6% GST (MYR23 nett) Fried Rice with Thai Basil/Sweet Basil. This portion is the same as before but they have replaced the shredded cabbage with sticks of raw cucumber and carrot.
We ordered a glass of hot honey ginger drink at MYR5.90+ 6% GST (MYR6.25 nett) which taste fine.
Total bill is MYR39.75 nett for two pax but they did not give me 5 cents back in change so the cost to me is MYR39.80 nett. I was not in the mood to argue so I did not ask them for the 5 cents.
The rice is such a small portion, not enough if for me
ReplyDeleteI had tasted this turmeric glutinous rice at JB before, not to my liking, I still prefer white rice
DeleteThe fried rice portion should be big enough for you.
DeleteYou don't like the glutinous rice or the turmeric?
DeleteOooo...pulut kuning!!! I love that! The last time I had it was 1986 at a nyonya food stall at a coffee shop close to Jaya Supermarket, PJ. So very nice but never came across any shop selling this after that one time. I sure would want to have that again.
ReplyDeleteCan eat this when you visit kl and stay at the hotels at midvalley.
DeleteShould put the pulut kuning in smaller plate.
ReplyDeleteNasi goreng selasih looked good. I like they served it with crackers. So many crackers some more.
I was surprised that they give so many crackers too.
DeleteYet they use such a big plate for the so-called snacks portion. Makes the thing look even more pathetic. :/
ReplyDeleteThey have no small plates I think.
DeleteMaybe sticky rice is more filling ... that is why it shrunk? hahaha.. anyway, the curry portion is also very little...
ReplyDeleteThere are only two cubes of beef in the curry so I agree with you that the portion is small.
DeleteThe pulut kuning sure looks like a small portion especially served on a big plate.
ReplyDeleteThe portion is smaller than lomaikai!
DeleteIt will look better if they serve in a smaller plate, at least it would not look so obvious by the shrinkage...hehe
ReplyDeleteI don't think they have smaller plates, hehehehe.
DeleteThe govt's debts are escalating the inflation, making all our food to shrink like that. It was so awful to see such a big plate. I would need 2 plates of that to be full.
ReplyDeleteI think after eating 2 plates you still won't be full.
Deletethe pulut is really pathetic looking...the shrinkflation is hitting us hard these days...
ReplyDeletePathetic looking but portion is good enough for me as I am a small eater.
DeleteThat first pic is really 'memorable' haha. Noted that it's only a snack.
ReplyDeleteThe second one is ok lah.
Hahahaha kecik portion.
