Yong Chow fried rice that comes with a glass of herbal drink for MYR10.90++ (MYR12.71 nett after 10% service charge and 6% GST). Flavourful but quite oily.
A glass of herbal tea and a glass of chinese tea included with the main dishes. Four different kinds of dips.
Our usual pork chop noodle with a glass of chinese tea for MYR13.90++ (MYR16.21 nett). As tasty as before. Our favourite.
Ordered an add on dish - Wor Tip - Pan Sticker (pan fried dumplings) at a special price of MYR8.30++ (MYR9.68 nett). Quite oily.
I like the dips and pork chop noodle. A choice of four dips!
ReplyDeleteThe ginger slices in vinegar dip is mainly for the pan fried dumplings/wor tip.
DeleteI like the pan fried dumplings, oily is ok for me, cos I feel must have some oil to be tasty
ReplyDeleteI guess they cater to customers like you. :)
DeleteAll look good, I always liked Esquire but I think they were better a long long time ago in the 80's, 1986 to be exact - at Sg Wang and then there was an outlet at Bukit Bintang, opposite Federal but it closed down soon after. Been to the Mid Valley outlet a couple of times, did not think they were that good, and things did not come cheap so I never went back again.
ReplyDeleteEsquire kitchen is no longer in midvalley. At least not at where they used to be. I didn't go look for them around midvalley to see whether they have relocated to another spot.
DeleteNo more? The one next to the sports shop, sports clothes and equipment? Never mind, no love lost - have not gone for a long long time.
DeleteCorrect. No longer there.
DeleteYes, I agree with Arthur, Esquire used to be very prestigious during the yesteryears... That time have to think twice before going in... Hahaaa
ReplyDeleteI remember eating there when I was in primary school.
DeleteI already one last time this chain since years ago. Oily and too "tasty", even for me.
ReplyDeleteYou are much better than me. I kept saying one last time but somehow keep finding myself there.
DeleteDespite oily, I still like their 'wor tip'.
ReplyDeleteHah you are like Libby.
DeleteEsquire. I dined once and I like the food.
ReplyDeleteI like their fried dumpling.
Oh so you like the wor tip.
DeleteI have been to Esquire for a long. long time now since they changed management donkey years ago. The food has not been to my liking since the change.
ReplyDeleteI think their dishes offered are still the same but the taste is too flavorful. ;p
DeleteI have only been to Esquire only once when I was working in KL and can't remember how the food tasted like.
ReplyDeleteNo need to try again. :)
DeleteEsquire is getting pricey now with their new menu. It was my late parents' favourite place.
ReplyDeleteI have not visited The Mines Shopping Mall after they have refurbished. I used to bring tourists there to ride the boats and they loved the concept inside the mall. I was told the mall actually copied this water concept from a famous mall in Texas.
I have not been on the boats like you have been. I thought macau also has something like this copied from venice?
DeleteThe wor tip looks a bit burnt?
ReplyDeleteI think I had dined at Esquire once or twice only, din't have a good impression also... Too many other eateries to choose now.
Supposed to be like that - golden brown, not burnt black.
DeleteThe many times I dined in Esquire kitchen, we always had lauk pauk kind of meal coz those days my colleagues simply love Esquire Kitchen and always dragged us there.
ReplyDeleteI never know they have this kinda of food.
That's because you don't have to look through their menu as your colleagues ordered all the food.
DeleteI haven't been to Esquire in a while. The last trip was to the 1u one where food was not good. But I have fond memories of many other trips there with my dad, so must go one day...
ReplyDeleteI have never been to the branch in 1u because I don't like the look of it.
