After our previous Japanese set lunch at Hokkaido Ichiba, Gardens Mall, we went back to Kura Japanese Restaurant at One World Hotel for their set lunch. The above sashimi set lunch costs MYR33 nett which is the same price as the set lunch at Hokkaido Ichiba, Gardens Mall.
This Salmon Shioyaki (Grilled Salmon with Salt) set lunch costs MYR33 nett. In 2014, this set used to cost MYR23++ which comes up to MYR26.70 nett so the price increment over two years is MYR6.30 which is quite all right since it includes the GST as well.
A piece of grilled shioyaki (lightly salted) salmon alone (ala carte) at Hokkaido Sushi, One Utama costs around MYR22.80 and this set is only MYR30 nett so this is a value for money meal.
A piece of salmon at a western cafe would be going for around that same price, anyway.
ReplyDeleteVery true so this meal has so many items so it is worth the price.
DeleteI think I will go for the Grilled Salmon set. Looks like a thick piece of salmon.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you will like it.
DeleteYes, I would like the second set.. at least the salmon is grilled.. :)
ReplyDeleteI remember you don't like raw fish that much.
DeleteI don't know why but I always feel these Japanese set meals are expensive. Yeah they have more items on the platter and whatnot, but still...
ReplyDeleteSo if I am paying my own money, I usually will only go for things like ramen or katsudon.
Not worth it to eat ramen at normal Japanese restaurants. Ramen must be eaten at specialty Japanese Ramen restaurants.
DeleteWow! The price is not cheap but then, good Japanese food is never cheap lah. The portion is just nice and looks good.
ReplyDeleteLike this is considered not expensive.
DeleteCan't go too wrong with Japanese. :)
ReplyDeleteMust be those Japanese restaurants serving quality food.
DeleteTrue. Can be lousy too.
DeleteAgreed.
