This plate of roast chicken (half a chicken) costs MYR43 nett at Teak Kee, a no-frills typical eatery with air-conditioning. I think the price is high but am not sure why it is so but the chicken is tasty so no complaints there. The thing is, will you eat the garnishing on the plate - the slices of raw cucumber, tomatoes and some leaves of raw lettuce?
The garnishing is edible, so why not? I tink the chicken abit overpriced, but seeing from the previous post, the other dishes looks good and worth trying, especially the veggie dishes.
ReplyDeleteI was told they may not be washed but I ate the cucumber and tomatoes.
DeleteWow!!! RM43 for half! Here, at my regular Thai place, it's RM39 for half - steamed kampung chicken but that's an upscale, classier kind of place. This place is also nice, not our regular coffee shop or chicken rice stall - only RM23 here, one whole organic chicken, smoked/roasted

MYR23 for a chicken and an organic one too is a steal!
DeleteI usually dont touch those garnishing. Dont know they wash them or not! Haha.
ReplyDeleteIt was pricey for half a chicken but if tasty, I would not complain much.
I was warned about that too - the washing part.
DeleteI usually wallop all garnishing!
ReplyDeleteMe too but I was stopped this time.
DeleteThe tomato and cucumber yes. The lettuce, nope... I have same concern as Rose World...
ReplyDeleteThis time I also only ate the tomato and cucumber but not the lettuce because I was told not to.
DeleteOnly 1/2 a chicken and it cost RM43.00. Looks like a small chicken too. Very pricey for a no-frills establishment. Did they charge correctly? I am the one who usually wallop the garnishing hah..hah... But I do wonder if the restaurant recycles them from other plates if untouched.
ReplyDeleteYes, they charged correctly. I also wonder the same thing and usually I will eat all the garnishing too.
DeleteYes I would sweep the whole plate like a DBKL truck. These garnishing helps me to digest away all the meat and guilts. LOLOL
ReplyDeleteNormally I eat all the garnishing too.
DeleteSince it is expensive, I will take in the crackers, cucumber and tomatoes..and the greens..
ReplyDeletehehehehehe, good move! :D
DeleteHa ha! I will eat all the garnishing! Treat them as salad without the seasoning!
ReplyDeletePreviously I ate them all too!
DeleteI will eat the tomato and Ethan will eat the cucumber. The leaves, nope.
ReplyDeleteWhy not the leaves?
DeleteI will eat the tomato
ReplyDeleteAnd not the others?
DeleteI will only eat the prawn crackers. Ok cucumber also fine if not bitter.
ReplyDeletePrawn crackers of course we all ate that. Cucumbers but why not the tomatoes?
