New eateries

Back in November 2014, I wrote about Tai Lei Loi Kei Macau at the Gardens Mall and just last week I noticed that the eatery has been replaced by Kim Lian Kee, an eatery that is famous for its dark Hokkien Mee with its main outlet in Petaling Street, KL. Will go try it soon.

Also back in November 2014, I wrote about eating at Edo Ramen at Midvalley Mall. Just last week I noticed that it has been replaced by BBQ Town Buffet.

Thai BBQ and Japanese Shabu Shabu. Lunch Buffet around MYR30ish and Dinner Buffet around MYR40ish. Does not serve pork and no alcohol. Good for those big eaters I would say. Don't think I will be eating there because I am a small eater.

  4. shoplots for eateries are surely turning over very fast and selling like hotcakes in MV, and I think there is already a long waiting list.. 5. Are you sure those restaurants are replaced and not moved to another location? Sometimes the malls love to do this, every few years they force the tenants to move to another location and spend some money to renovate again, just to keep the malls looking fresh.

I will be sad if Tai Lei Loi Kei is gone, I haven't tested it yet leh! :(

    1. You better go try soon coz, as I know, their outlets seem to be closing down one by one (the one in my housing area closed in less than a year). That goes to show that something so phenomenal in Macau doesn't mean it'll do just as well elsewhere! :(

    2. Tai Lei Loi Kei may still be available at Lot 10 Hutong food court. Quick! go there to check it out. I don't think they move to another location within MV. Maybe they move out to set up shop outside of MV.

    4. Agree with what RG says here, malls like to revamp their tenants now and then to keep the malls looking fresh

    5. But some tenants are like forever there although they renovated their shop lots every 4 orr 5 years.

  6. Restaurant turnover is very fast in high traffic malls like Mid Valley & Pavilion...coz if your food ain't good, the competition will take you out! :( I thought you've eaten at Kim Lian Kee already....and yeah, their Fried Hokkien Mee is quite good.

  7. wonder why both got replaced... one year is a very short life for a business... if it was just a change of location then that means they are still doing great but if they can no longer be found, that means they gone bankrupt or something.... but hey I think BBQ Town Buffet sounds great to me

    1. Don't think they went bankrupt. Maybe just went outside of the mall to set up shop elsewhere.

    1. Very true but these two if I am not mistaken are outlets of main shops elsewhere.

    1. You mean at the Hutong Food Court? They have been there for many years now since that food court open.
