Tonkotsu Ramen MYR9.90 for a regular portion.
Beef Ramen (New item on Promotion) - MYR9.90 (regular portion) - the broth has a very strong beef taste.
The regular portion is actually quite little due to the shape of the bowl but I like it because I get to taste the ramen without having to eat a lot.
A cup of hot green tea - MYR2.90 and total bill came up to MYR47.10 for 3 pax after 10% service charge and 6% government tax.

Still early so plenty of seats are still available
The sign says "Please pay at the counter".
Store front - used to be called Goku Raku (just renamed to Edo Ramen) because the receipt still says "Goku Raku", Midvalley Megamall.
The noodles are made daily. Actually the texture of this ramen noodle is quite different from the other ramen that I have eaten. I find the texture rather like the texture of Soba noodle.
Those bowls look like prime candidates to be tipped over by hyperactive kids..
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteI like ramen and will always order soupy ramen if I go to any Japanese restaurants.. I see the portion is very small wor.. Only the top part looks full since the bottom part is a 'triangular shape', so it can't hold much..
ReplyDeleteRegular portion is definitely not enough for you.
DeleteGosh! And I thought the nasi lemak special I had was expensive. They did not serve the egg in halves. I love how they do them at these Japanese places - the yolk is always soft and moist.
ReplyDeleteYou can google for the way to cook these ramen eggs and diy. I am sure you can do it easily. :)
Deleteah yeah, no wonder I seem to see something familiar.. it was the Gokuraku Ramen and now turned Edo Ramen.. haven't dined in both before though, so *jakun*
ReplyDeletesmall portion huh?? no wonder I can't see the ramen at all!! hahahaha.. but then with the price, I guess no complaint because in other places, a regular (i.e. bigger) portion is like RM30, of course we are not referring to those localized japanese sushi chains..
You have not eaten there but you know gokuraku ramen so you must be very familiar with shops in midvalley!
Deletehmm.....bowl so big ..cannot see the noodles at all. they trying to copy Boat noodle concept ka?
ReplyDeleteHahaha this is still 10 times the amount of boat noodle.
DeleteIt's an illusion (wide at the top, narrow at the bottom)....to make you think you're getting a sizeable portion, hehe!
ReplyDeleteVery true.
DeleteAnd I thought you only took photos after finishing most of the ramen! (Which would be most unlike you... )
ReplyDeleteThe ramen noodle are hidden underneath the soup.
DeleteNo la... portion too small.
DeleteYes small too. Big eaters should go for the large portion that is more expensive.
DeleteI must make it a point to eat ramen one day.
ReplyDeleteMust eat at those specialty ramen shops in 1u.
Deleteso, which one is good?
ReplyDeleteIf you like strong garlic taste then go for the ultimate black but be warned the pork is very fatty.
