Was too early to a mall and not many eateries were opened for business yet so ended up eating here. This nissin noodle was from the breakfast menu - MYR6.90 - and I did not eat that runny yolk so I gave it to my spouse. There were some vegetables and deep fried fish paste in this nissin noodle bowl.
With an order from the breakfast menu, we ordered the coffee, MYR1 and the kaya toast, MYR2.
We selected this nasi lemak (coconut milk rice) from the main menu - MYR12.90 - because the nasi lemak dish offered in the breakfast menu did not include any main meat like chicken or beef. For 3 persons, the bill came up to MYR26.45 after 10% service charge and 6% government tax.
Fish paste? Not fish cake? That would be pretty nice. I don't think this is OldTown or Papparich, which franchise?
ReplyDeleteOh, sorry. What is the different between fish paste and fish cake ah when both are fried? I know usually yu wat (fish paste) is not deep fried but fish cake is. This is Papparich. I did not explicitly write out the name because the plate and bowl in the photos above got the name papparich on them. Hehehe.
DeleteHow did I miss the Papparich words? Alamak! Maybe I was too tired to pay attention to the photos.
DeleteFish cake is processed, fish paste is handmade, like those you get in fish head bihun places. Or at least that's what I think..
In that case by your definition this is fish cake then. Hehehe I miss reading your jalapeno caption too so it must be reading too late at night and eyes are tired.
DeleteI also bought instant noodles yesterday.. If I'm too lazy to cook for myself on weekends, I'll just cook instant noodles with egg and some assorted balls.. Usually weekends I'll cook for the boys only..
ReplyDeleteCooking instant noodles at home is very convenient and they taste good.
DeleteOooo...I love that runny yolk!!! So pissed off by what they did to the one in my claypot noodles. FAIL big time! Nasi lemak looks great. I liked PR, went to the one at Bukit Bintang a few times. Nice food, nice place...just a bit more expensive. Did very well in Melbourne when it first opened, long queues - dunno now.
ReplyDeleteI read about the failed runny yolk in your post. I googled for news about Papparich Oz, seems that they are still doing well there.
DeleteTHe nasi lemak looks good! We dont order instant noodles when we eat out coz we can cook it at home. We only order things that we dont cook at home. Kiasu me :D Wah, you are very early today!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that instant noodles can be easily prepared at home so I also don't order it normally. But this time was an.exception to the norm.
DeleteHow come you can't eat the runny yolk ya??
ReplyDeleteJust my preference. I find the runny yolk a bit geli.
DeleteLike you, I don't take runny yolks.. I prefer them done... unless they are half boiled eggs, even then, I usually tell them to make it more "sook"... hahaha... I like nissin noodles too.. finer...
ReplyDeleteI don't take half boiled eggs only the hard boiled ones.
Deletei enjoyed eating nissin noodle too~ =D
ReplyDeleteHappy walker I know you enjoy eating many types of food.
Deleteah, again you are always too early for the eateries to open, haha!! next time maybe you can laze around at home for a little longer before you set off for the day, haha!! :D
ReplyDeleteHave to be early to beat the traffic jam and also to get a car park space near to the entrance to save time.
Deletehmm, i'm not that into that instant noodles for breakfast, but then the kaya toast and the nasi lemak will be great for me!! so i guess you were very happy that the samba was served on the side, so you can safely scoop some plain rice to eat without the sambal.. hmmm, the more i look at the nasi lemak, the more i think i want to have it, hahaha!! :D
ReplyDeleteOrdered the instant noodles because it is the cheapest on the menu, hahaha! Yes, Good that they did not just simply pour the sambal on top of the rice. Nasi lemak is my default meal when I could not decide on what to eat but for the both of us, we will only one nasi lemak and another type of dish. We never each have a plate of nasi lemak because the rice is really too much!
DeleteI've eaten at PappaRich only once but wasn't impressed with the food, so I never went back...maybe it's time for a revisit.
ReplyDeleteYou don't like runny eggs? Why, they're the best things in he world!
The nasi lemak looks pretty good!
