Uncle Tetsu

Finally bought one for MYR19.90 just to satisfy my curiosity after reading about it.

Only Takeaways, no dine-in available. A plastic knife is provided.

I found a seat for public in this shopping mall and sat down to cut and eat the cake. Ate a quarter at one go -- oops! It is so soft that eating it is like eating nothing. More eggy taste than cheese taste. Shared it with my family and they say that they prefer Uncle Miki's cheesecake. This article compares the two: Uncle Tetsu vs Uncle Miki, have a read if you are interested.

Apart from cheesecake, they sell two other products: cheese zuccotto and cheesecake sticks. Even though there is no queue now but the cheese cakes are not available on the spot. I need to pay first and write down my name and then the staff will tell me what time I need to come back to collect the cheese cake. It is not a long wait, about 5 to 15 minutes depending on how many names are on the list.

  5. Oooooooo...I love this! First tried this type of cheesecake in Singapore long long ago, Uncle Miki's - it also has a logo/icon on top of the cake like that. Later also available at Isetan, Lot 10. So so so nice. I'd like this anytime over those rich and creamy ones, so jelak eating those - no, thank you.

  6. where is this place??

hmm, no ready cajes available in the shelf?? either they are too good in business or that's just a marketing gimmick or they really bake fresh upon order.. whatever, I don't mind coming back in 15minutes if I am told beforehand, rather than standing there and waiting like an impatient idiot, hahaha!! so I bet they rather give me one which is fresh from the oven after the wait, hehehe!!

  8. Oo thanks for this review. I've been wondering what the big deal was after noticing a queue every time we walk past. Thought the cake looks really small for the price, Unc Miki is bigger and cheaper.

    1. The eggu taste covered the cheese taste so I think it is safe for you to try.

  10. I was there on their opening day (just passing by) and thought of coming back to get a cheesecake after my grocery shopping. But by then, the queue was so long. So I did not bother. I guess the excitement must have worn off as the last time I was there (no did not buy) there was just a short line.

    1. There is cheese taste just not strong enough for me to detect. Those who don't eat cheese will detect it.
