It is time for a mandatory work lunch and majority rules so everyone made their way to Old Town White Coffee. The
previous time I was there, I had their set lunch which gives the best value for money and I know that but this time I did not want to have the drink that was included in all the meals in the set lunch menu so I opted for an expensive snack instead from their ala carte menu.
Chicken nuggets - MYR5.80 plus 10% service charge giving a grand total of MYR6.40 which means MYR1.28 for one small piece of nugget. So not worth it.
Is this reconstituted chicken meat or is it not?
I am really at a loss as to what to order should there be another mandatory work lunch there.
My colleague said the fried fish cake is nice.. And also the curry puffs.. But I dont order chicken or fish nuggets..
ReplyDeleteWhy not? Do you fry frozen chicken nuggets at home yourself?
DeleteOld Town? Ok, I'd pass, thank you very much. :D
ReplyDeleteI want to pass also but cannot.
DeleteDifficult when dining in a group. I like to have healthy options, but they seem hard to find in many places.
ReplyDeleteDine in group have to follow the majority.
DeleteMaybe you can try their french toast or egg toast next time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion.
Deletemandatory work lunch?? meaning you went out for a company lunch together with colleagues yes and bosses, and company foot the bills?? haha, in that event, I guess many would order something they usually will not order and which is more expensive??
ReplyDeletewell, nothing's new for the expensive price of such "high class kopitiam" chains right?? that explains why I seldom patronize such places, me very frugal so I rather pay less than half for the same thing at old coffee shops, hehe!! :p
No lah. Say is company lunch but money from our own pocket lah.
DeleteBoth my girls love chicken nuggets...must order at McD or KFC although at times I prefer to just get a big packet and fry at home.hahhaha
ReplyDeleteI say McD and KFC chicket nuggets are tastier than this.
Deletenugget in Old Town...hmmmm.....have to say no thanks. Pricey leh
ReplyDeleteI agree it is expensive.
DeleteI would go for their set lunch instead. Hehe
ReplyDeleteSet lunch is the value for money choice.
DeleteYou don't like the kaya butter toast?
ReplyDeleteIf it's company-paid there are quite a few things I'd like from Old Town... mainly snacks which look the most interesting (but pricey).
Money from own pocket lah, say only team lunch.
DeleteI will opt for bread...toasted or steamed will be nice.....
ReplyDeleteI am cutting down on carb.
Deleteooohhhh! I love the recipe! When I was a kid I was eating 20 Nuggets at once!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely you love them as 20 nuggets are a lot!
DeleteI don't like those chicken nuggets as they don't taste like chicken. I have had those from McD and they are not appealing at all.
ReplyDeleteLong time I never eat McD nuggets already.
DeleteOld Town good for their toast bread with butter + kaya and coffee.
ReplyDeleteThat's breakfast!
DeleteMun, do remember to join my Followers Box.
ReplyDeleteOk. Will do.
DeleteMmm........ those nuggets don't look good. I like those served in Mac tho.
ReplyDeleteMac's is better than kfc's?
DeleteDefinitely pass on this! Looks like frozen kind...and god knows what they put in it :(
ReplyDeleteI have never seen non frozen chicken nuggets being sold in supermarkets.
DeleteWhat I mean is if you have your own café/restaurant, you should make your own fresh chicken nuggets...and not buy common frozen ones from supermarkets.
DeleteI wonder whether anyone will bother to make fresh chicken nugget since they can just eat the chicken lah if it is fresh why bother to make into nuggets.
Deletenuggets will be the last option for my meal...coz it will never gets me full...
ReplyDeleteWhy mandatory lunch? Cannot 'escape' one? Say u have appointment with another fren...then sneak away...hehehe
Cannot escape. Fix many moons ago to give ample time to not have appointment with own fren.
DeleteI'm pretty sure ALL chicken nuggets are made of reconstituted chicken meat...
ReplyDeleteOh, is it?
