Squid Ink Rice with Assorted Seafood & Omu Egg - MYR33.88 (all-in) - I super like the egg here - with just the right amount of creaminess. I can't detect any special taste for the squid ink. The squid rings are very fresh and the prawns are a bit too crunchy for my liking. There is a layer of almost crispy rice at the bottom of the mini pan/pot. This dish won't be enough to fill a medium to big eater in my opinion - just look at the size of the table spoon and you can guess the size of the mini pan/pot.
Lobster Bisque Paste - MYR34.98 (all-in) - don't let the size of the plate fooled you. The portion of pasta for this dish is huge with one good sized prawn. The 3 of us have difficulty finishing the pasta here as all of us have weak teeth and preferred the pasta to be softer. Taste good with a good amount of cheese sprinkled on top of the pasta.
We did not plan to order this. I ordered this Souffle Au Franco - MYR33.88 (all-in) because I was fascinated by the tall egg structure in the photo on the menu. The golden mountain in the photo above is all eggs covered with cheese perhaps.
Tomato rice lies beneath the mountain of fluffy/foamy egg.
Should be tasty for those who like to eat fluffy/foamy savoury egg souffle. I don't like the fluffy/foamy texture but we finished it without much effort as it was easy to eat with no off putting strong egg taste.
Berries cheesecake parfait - MYR17.39 (all-in) - I like the berries and ice cream on top and my friends like the cream cheese in the glass.
Chocolate Souffle - MYR22.88 - very rich chocolate taste. The amount is just right when shared by the 4 of us who get satiated by sweet food easily. We knew that souffles are not our cup of tea because we prefer solid cakes but we ordered this just to try. Those are tea spoons in the photo above.
Hot coffee for one of us - MYR10.79 (all-in)
This bill was put on our table after we have placed our order before the other two have arrived. There was no queue at all at 11.30am on this Saturday. May be back for the creamy egg.
I'm attracted to the 'golden mountain' on top too.
ReplyDeleteI was too.
DeleteNo squid ink for me, please. I'd stick to the lobster.
ReplyDeleteThe black looks horribly inedible to you?
DeleteThe squid ink rice is mini wor, looking at the spoon on the pot.. Am attracted to the souffle rice, it looks so huge..
ReplyDeleteI got a surprise too when I saw the mini pot.
Deletewow that surely is a pampering makan for the weekend.. I see lots of delicious and mouthwatering food, the lobster bisque pasta looks good and the soufflé au franco is kind of special, did not expect rice below.. delicious!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAny squid ink for you?
DeleteI thought that souffle looked quite like shepherd's pie! Amazing, can get such a crust with just eggs!
ReplyDeleteThe crust is a cheese egg crust I think.
DeleteNever had squid ink pasta...don't think I would. It seems the whipped egg whites is what gives the soufflé the fluffy lift (and a lot of egg yolks go into making a soufflé).
ReplyDeleteThey have squid ink pasta too, in additional to this rice dish. Do you like to eat souffle?
DeleteThese are all new to me. Haven't tasted squid ink rice. Maybe I might try testing a teaspoon first before I dare to order one for myself! I think it is safer for me to go for the berries cheesecake and hot coffee...hehehe...
ReplyDeleteThe squid ink does not have any special taste.
DeleteOh thought the squid ink rice interesting until you pointed out the spoon for size comparison! If I were to eat 2... arghh rm60+.
ReplyDeleteAfter eating this mini portion, you can order something else too eat to top up. :)
DeleteSquid ink rice? wow.. that is new to me.. wonder how it taste... the desserts looks tempting though... I would love to try a bit of everything above..!
ReplyDeleteNo special taste. Do try!
DeleteU went there Mun! Wow..u try the savory souffle! ehhehe. I think I want to try the soft served ice cream which is topped on a pancake next time.
ReplyDeleteYou prefer sweet food to savoury ones?
DeleteDepends Mun. My palate is not adventurous type. For instant, I love pasta but if you ask me to have chocolate pasta I could not take it.ahhahaha
DeleteHaha, I have not seen any chocolate pasta before. But you like the Royce potatoes chips coated with chocolate, right?
DeleteMaybe not the blacky rice for me. Haha. I do not mind the souffle au franco.
ReplyDeleteWhy not?
Deleteoh gosh before drooling over those desserts... we actually have the so-called "Pancit pusit" in here. It is a black noodles with squids on it.. and because of the ink.. it makes the noodles black and I love it especially when you pair it with white rice
ReplyDeleteAh, so you have eaten squid ink before. Thanks for sharing the info on Pancit pusit.
Deleteok now back to dessert... gosh , that Chocolate Souffle makes me crave for chocolate even more... I can actually have it all alone LOL
ReplyDeleteYou like souffle or you like chocolate more?
Deleteomg. the dessert looks GORGEOUS! I'd die to eat this Souffle right now!
ReplyDeleteThe chocolate souffle or the savoury souffle?
DeleteYou took the photos very well and made the Souffle Au Franco look so delicious!! I am drooling now.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Go eat there?
