Win Soon

Many years back, I have been to this Win Soon eatery or also known as Ah Soon Fish Head Mee at Kuchai Lama but have never written about it so when recently we went there again and they taste just as good as during my previous visits, I decided to post this. They also serve Tom Yam broth for your noodle if you do not want to have the normal fish head broth. The normal fish head broth is already very flavourful but if you want it to be spicy, then go for the Tom Yam broth.

Fresh water prawn and fried fish head noodle without milk - MYR18.80

Fish meat (not fried) noodle - MYR9.50 - can you see the deep fried lard?

Deep fried fish head noodle - MYR9.5 - the deep fried fish pieces are very crunchy

Deep fried fish head with squid (sotong) meatballs - MYR9.50 - the sotong meatballs are normal fish meatballs with sotong pieces in them.

Iced coffee and Iced "Teh Tarik" - MYR4.40 each - after this meal, I read from another blog post that their in-house prepared drinks should be avoided at all costs and to only order hot chinese tea or soft drinks from cans. Too late for me but not for you. It is true, the iced "teh tarik" has a sweet artificial flavouring taste to it so it is not nice to drink.

  2. I miss the fish bihun with the milky sauce. The only one, and a good one at that, here decided to close shop to focus on making the instant kampua...and watch the money roll in.

  10. it depends on my mood, sometimes i like to have it with milk, sometimes i like to have it without milk.. but never tried the tomyum one before.. so they still use the same soup base, but add in probably two spoons of tomyum paste??

  12. I think I know this shop. If it is the one whom we have been going to, then I must say that we all love their fish head noodles with prawns and fish paste. But it's not cheap eh?
