Nasi Lemak Set that includes Brilliant's Dessert - MYR17.80 - fried chicken, prawn and squid stuffed with minced pork. The fried chicken has been marinated for too long I suspect because the meat is a bit too salty for my liking.
Nasi Lemak Pork Rendang - MYR8.20 - the rice is firm and I prefer the rice to be very much softer. I still prefer beef rendang to pork rendang.

The drumstick looks a bit small ahh, hehe but I guess overall it was nice? I've never eaten stuffed squid with minced potk.. Sounds interesting.. Me too, I think I prefer beef rendang but I dont mind trying the pork ones, something different ma..
ReplyDeleteGood morning Princess Ribbon,
DeleteIt is a whole chicken leg including the thigh so it must be really small if you think it is only a drumstick. Lol!
Overall boleh lah. Their tagline is best nasi lemak in town.
So neat, your plate of nasi lemak. I've one in my blogpost today too - very much cheaper, I would say.
ReplyDeleteI think the plate is too big hahaha! With one type of mains, the price is MYR8.20 to MYR8.90, the MYR17.80 is for 3 types of mains with a dessert.
DeleteTell them to change the name from pork rendang to something else, later they will get sued for insulting Islam, using pork to cook rendang...
ReplyDeleteBut but there are many other non halal places cooking this dish and naming it this way too.
Deleteah, i've been to their outlet in Puchong and i actually find the nasi lemak nice!! of course i did not order the set which is rather expensive to me.. my friend and i each ordered the fried chicken nasi lemak at RM8.20, barley drink and we shared an extra top up of the rendang pork at RM6 (if not mistaken).. i find the fried chicken very nice, i usually prefer chicken breast and don't fancy thigh, but this one i ate it till the bone is left, haha!! looks like different outlet has slightly different standard??
ReplyDeleteI think the standard is the same because the food is cooked in their central kitchen in Kepong if I am not mistaken. It is just that my palate is more attune to not so flavourful food so the taste may be very nice for you but too salty for me. :)
DeleteBTW i agree with Princess Ribbon, your chicken looks rather "shrunken" in size leh, i remember mine was bigger and looked more fresh.. maybe yours are leftover being re-fried, that's why too salty for you?? haha, errrr, just a wild guess only, haha~~
ReplyDeleteNo, not refried because the skin of the chicken was golden yellow, not deep brown as in the case of a refried. Maybe it is the angle of the camera. Next time I place the meat in front so maybe it will look bigger on that huge plate.
DeletePork rendang sounds interesting. I should cook that one day.
ReplyDeleteYou are a good cook so should be a piece of cake for you. :)
DeleteCould it be the plate is too big, that's why the portion looks like a bit small duh?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the plate is too big. :D
Deleteinteresting name for a restaurant. I like the way they put everything separately from the rice. Not touching. dont like the sambal to banjir my rice
ReplyDeleteThis place was featured in the star and sun newspapers recently. I have passed by this place but never been in to eat but when I read it in the papers, I thought ok can go and try.
DeleteThat brilliant dessert looks good. Nice to take on hot day.
ReplyDeleteYes, agreed.
DeleteSomething like Madam Kwan? hahahaa.. the nasi lemak on big plate reminded me of that meal when I went to KL the other day. Does the rice has the santan fragrant in it? Love santan rice.. very heong.. !
ReplyDeleteMadam Kwan is a halal place, this is not and this does not offer as main dishes on order as Madam Kwan does. Nowadays I find it hard to detect santan fragrant - perhaps my santan detector not working already.
Deletepork rendang? never try before. But I guess anything rendang would be good!
ReplyDeleteI have eaten pork rendang at a shop in Happy Mansion, PJ Section 17 before. Dunno whether it is still there or not.
DeleteWonder why they call it brilliant? Sounds like some hardware shop to me.. :p
ReplyDeleteBecause their nasi lemak is brilliantly tasty? :p
DeleteOh Yummy Yummy Mummy! I always loved Nasi Lemak and could eat them daily for breakfast until my waistline burst...! Now I have to eat less frequent.
ReplyDeleteThis dessert is so nice and refreshing with all my favourite ingredients too!
I think you can eat them daily but exercise hard daily too to burn all the calories away then you will still be slim. :)
