Mushroom gravy

This is the Ipoh Chee Cheong Fun eaten by someone in our group with the full works - mushroom gravy, green pickled chili, a bit of sweet red sauce, a bit of chili sauce, deep fried shallots and sesame seeds. The thing is I forgot to ask the person how this taste like.

  2. Looks rather oily though...or maybe it's the photograph. The mushroom gravy sure doesn't look like what we get in western cuisine nor is it anything like mushroom soy that I use at home in place of soy sauce. That's a mighty big plate - I don't think I've ever seen a serving of chee cheong fan this big.

    1. I think it is not oil but the reflection from the starchy translucent gravy.
