Pulled Pork Charcoal Burger - MYR12 from "Today's Specials" menu.
Chicken Pot Pie - MYR8
MYR12 - I forgot the name of this dish but all of you can tell what it is by looking at it.
4 mini tarts - MYR6, 2 cupcakes - MYR6 from the dessert counter
My drink - ice blended fresh strawberry without any syrup - really sour but I like it because of the fresh strawberry taste - MYR9. They did give me a tiny jug of syrup and refused to take it away when I said I didn't need it because I think they did not think I can stand the sourness but I did not touch the syrup at all.
My spouse's drink - ice blended fresh kiwi without any syrup - sour with a tinge of sweetness and I like this drink too - MYR9.
Nice decor
JJ Cafe, Jalan Kampar, Ipoh - a nice place to hang out - prices stated on the menu are nett prices.
Bacon and sausage is it? Pigs in blanket?
ReplyDeleteYes but they named it something else. All I can remember is the word wrapped.
DeleteThat bacon thingy on salad looks nice. I also prefer fruit juice without any added sugar.
ReplyDeleteYou can take sour sour drinks?
DeleteAh, so 2 health conscious people among the rest of them ;) .
ReplyDeleteDid you try the charcoal burger at all? I'm dying to see if anyone has the same feeling as me. My peers all seem to think that black bun is super delicious, but I tried a few burger joints that does it, it just taste like a black colored normal burger bun >.<
The taste is in the meat patty not the buns. The charcoal is in the bun for health purposes, not for the taste. Charcoal alone cannot taste good, right?
DeleteLooks good. Oh? It's in Ipoh... Dunno if I will ever get to go there again. :(
ReplyDeleteCome to kl then take the train to ipoh when claire is fully retired so that she may take you around ipoh for food food food but you may need to stay for many days to eat all the food that she has blogged about.
DeleteSerious Mun? Then you must come along with him since you are also a food lover!! :)
DeleteWait till I retire first (17 more years), then I can stay as long as I like in Ipoh to eat, eat, eat. Hahaha! :)
DeleteI will try to wait for you.. provided I still have teeth then! hahahaha...
DeleteI love all the food, except those greens, haha.. I will wallop all the food on those plates except the greens.. Ooohh, I see pigs in blanket, yumyum..
ReplyDeleteDon't let your boys hear this about the greens, hehehe! :) have a good day!
DeleteMun, you are more advanced than me... I have never been to this JJ new cafe... not sure where it is also but can surely find... maybe never thought of going there before.. but after seeing this, I might drop in soon! :)
ReplyDeleteClaire, even if you close your eyes, you can also find this cafe along Jalan Kampar, at the shoplots opposite Perak Girls School & Kinderjoy Tadika since you are a true blue Ipoh gal.
DeleteAlright, thanks Mun.. I agak agak know where now... :)
DeleteLook yummy to me. I like that wrapped bacons. Price is what expected in a cafe.
ReplyDeleteBut I find the price here quite reasonable. The strawberry fresh juice is quite cheap considering how expensive strawberries are.
Deletevery good of them to give a you a jar of syrup on the side though you dont need it
ReplyDeleteYes, for people who cannot take sour drinks, will need the syrup.
DeleteTheir drinks are quite interesting!
ReplyDeleteThere are also coffees available but we only ordered fresh fruit juices.
Deletehaha, so it's all the way makan, makan and makan.. but cannot blame you also lah, because you were in Ipoh mah, hehehe.. so this JJ Cafe is a more upscale place, i like the decor and the environment looks very cosy too..
ReplyDeleteI was told that the owners decorated the place themselves without using interior designers so they are really talented!
Deletei wonder what is "pulled" pork?? the presentation is kind of nice, so much better than the chicken pie which looks empty on the plate, probably they use the wrong plate to serve.. and the sausage bacon thing, "pigs in the blanket" haha, this is the common name but may not know they have more creative name given..
ReplyDeleteWiki says: "Pulled pork is a method of cooking pork where what would otherwise be a tough cut of meat is cooked slowly at low temperatures, allowing the meat to become tender enough so that it can be "pulled", or easily broken into individual pieces"
Deleteand i notice they use the same salad for every dish, haha.. and the fresh fruit blends, oh, i would not want to add in the sugar too, it would be just nice to drink the juice just like that, pure and plain.. i can even drink lime juice just like that, so i guess it will certainly be fine for me when it comes to strawberry and kiwi~~ :p
ReplyDelete*thumbs up* Welcome to the "can drink sour sour sour drinks" club! :D
Deleteu can 'tahan' the sourness...geng wor..
ReplyDeleteI can't take extreme sourness...most likely I will get another glass of plain water to standby...
Wow, your stomach can accommodate so much water ah? just use the syrup provided if you can't take the sourness.
DeleteI have not tried strawberries drink before. I may try make it at home today as the strawberries are on super special this week! Thank you for the idea!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome! :) I love strawberries.
DeleteYum! Yum! Yummy! I love everything you ate! The food presentation was good and so appetizing. We can share same table and menu in future!
ReplyDeleteThe ambiance and interior is cozy and nice too! These days many cafes have lovely walls for me to admire while waiting for the food to be served.
DeleteActually my brother and my spouse ate all the food, I only had the strawberry and kiwi juice, hehehe so those food are men's food. :)
DeleteThe owners did the interior designing themselves. So creative, right?
DeleteEverything looks nice! I'd probably not finish the veggies though heh.
ReplyDeleteYou don't like vege or you only eat raw veges at home?
DeleteWow, i love the desserts and the thirst quenching drink :)
ReplyDeleteI am sure you can make the desserts at home since you are such a good cook. :)
