I asked for half a bowl of rice but because it was a set meal, they ignored my request and still gave me a full bowl of rice. As I didn't want to leave half the rice uneaten due to wastage of food, I forced myself to finish the rice and had indigestion after that. :(
Next time, I think I will insist to be given half a bowl of rice by telling them that I will still pay the full price so there is no reason for them to ignore my request.
The fried fish fillet (dory) garnished with raw carrots and onions strips.
Village Cafe - one of the more popular eateries in this office complex. Frequent by office workers who do not want to drive out of the complex for lunch.
Oh I remember you saying you can only eat thoroughly cooked egg yolk. For me, I like my yolk runny. That is a lot of rice! I think I'll eat only a quarter of it.
ReplyDeleteYes, only cooked egg yolk for me. Normally I will only eat half of this portion of rice.
DeleteMe terbalik.. I like my yolk runny, and I bet you dont like half boiled eggs? Yeah that plate looks like a lot of rice, lucky got a lot of gravy, easier to swallow la..
ReplyDeleteYou are right. I don't eat half boiled eggs. Unfortunately I don't like to eat gravy.
DeleteI can't finish the whole bowl of rice also, but got to depend on what's the dishes come with...
ReplyDeleteIf good dishes, can finish? :)
DeleteYup, of coz!
DeleteHehe! When young like you csn eat more.
DeleteThat sure looks good. Not crazy about how they fried the egg though, not the way I would like it...but to each his own. We're opposite, it seems. ;)
ReplyDeleteSure, each to his own. :)
DeleteI prefer my egg yolks runny but my partner is the opposite. He is scared of bacteria!
ReplyDeleteYou and your partner is opposite of me and my spouse. My spouse loves runny yolk!
Deletestrange that they can't even attend to your request.. they can just give you half the rice, and no one is expecting a discount on this.. I mean kurang nasi no kurang duit but tambah nasi must tambah duit, we all accept this fact right?? next time just give half of your rice to you colleague who can eat more :)
ReplyDeleteVery true. All of us know - it is like kurang manis is same price. Tambah manis sometimes need to pay. All my colleagues also cannot eat more rice. :(
Deletegimme 5...i also like egg yolk this way :)
ReplyDeletewhy still give you full rice though u requested half. the worker doesnt understand is it
DeleteMore like can't be bothered gua.
DeleteI prefer runny egg yolk but anything would do. I like that sweet sour fish fillet. Very appetizing.
ReplyDeleteSame as me, any sourish food sure is appetizing.
DeleteI prefer runny yolks...poke the egg yolk over the rice, and the rice will not be too dry to eat ;-)
ReplyDeleteI find the taste of runny yolks very "seng" (raw fishy taste). I can't get used to it.
DeleteThe rice guy in my office cafeteria also same pattern, he don't give a damn on request for more or less rice. Scoop, pour on plate, push out, one single move. If you ask for less rice, he will ask you to throw whatever you cannot finish zzz..
ReplyDeleteThese people really wasteful. Give less also cannot. What's his problem?
DeleteThe problem is, it is not his problem. Waste is his boss's problem, or our problem if we feel for the environment..
DeleteYay I also like my yolks cooked. I always detect a sulfur-ish smell when not. My rice always finished one... until the last grain. :)
ReplyDeleteYou can eat a lot of rice?
DeleteI really cannot finish the whole bowl... that one can last me two meals.. hahahhaa... like you, I also order small rice when it comes to lunch or dinner because I like to eat more dishes than rice..
ReplyDeleteSame here. Yay!
