Price +1

Set meal: duck, pork, salted mustard vegetables with rice - MYR10.5 . Used to be MYR9.5 when we ordered the same meal back in February this year.

Ordered the above vege (small portion) from the already-cooked dishes counter - MYR5 and a bowl of congee with sweet potatoes - MYR2. Nett price.

When we were on our way out, we decided to takeaway some rice and a few dishes selected from the already-cooked dishes counter for dinner. Minced pork, stir fried ladyfingers, stir fried bittergourd with eggs and some rice - MYR11.

I did not ask for the breakdown but this is my guess: minced pork - MYR5, rice - MYR1, the two other dishes MYR2.5 each. This is not an economy rice (chap fan) shop. The already-cooked dishes are meant to be ordered as side dishes to be eaten with congee as this is a teow cheow porridge eatery so that's why the price is high.

  1. It is about same price as the one I sometimes go to in Penang. RM 7 - RM 12 depending on the dishes I take. But then the dishes are classier than typical zhap farn, so I guess it is worth it. I love the duck dish and fatty pork dish XD

    2. Yup, the one and only in the area where I staying in, opposite BJ complex. I usually go once a month when I take my "Toyota" for carwash, they are just next to each other. Drop my car, get a quickie lunch or dinner, then go back to get my car.

    1. Many different types of dishes would be expensive if Myr5 per dish.

  4. rather expensive selling every dish at RM5 per portion huh?? the set meal with roast duck and pork looks good, and i still can accept that at RM10.50.. but then that takeaway with minced pork and two veggie at RM11, OMG, that's whoppingly expensive!! guess in normal "chap fan" stalls, can get two boxes of the same thing at the same price..

    2. Well like I have said this is not a chap fan shop so the price is not a chap fan price.

    1. Sweet potatoes - worth its weight in gold! The Japanese variety even worse - cost a bomb! Sweet potato porridge - a Taiwan specialty, a poor man's meal...but not anymore. :(

    2. If we just eat plain porridge with sweet potatoes it will cost only MYR2 but I think we will be hungry very quickly after that.

  9. Just 6 months and the price increased by RM1? But that plate of meats was delicious looking.

I like sweet potato congee too.

That tapau a bit expensive. RM11, you can get a fish or chicken drumstick.

    1. Yes increased by MYR1. I guess the minced pork price is equal to a fish or chicken drumstick by their pricing.
