Squid Noodle

I was told that this mee sotong (squid noodle) is very tasty and that many people who have eaten this noodle would crave for it and return for more. Hearing this, I had to try it and so I did but the taste is too heavy for me. It is worth a try though if you like to eat mee goreng (fried noodle) in general.

Mee Sotong (Squid Noodle) - MYR5 - The main taste is sweet with chewy squid

The words "Hameed Pata Mee" engraved on the plate.

The "Mee Sotong" stall

Location: Esplanade Park Food Court, Penang

This is the car park next to it so parking is not an issue if you want to eat here.

Dewan Undangan Negeri is opposite the car park

  2. I like to eat mamak mee goreng and rojak (occasionally) and this would be somewhat similar to those, so it'd be ok for mee :)

    1. A bit spicy only. You can try asking them to tambah pedas! :)

  5. Huh? Did they renovate the food court? It looks a lot nicer than I remember. I thought this food court should be dark and dodgy looking...

Actually, are you sure you got the right mee sotong? The famous mee sotong of Esplanade that I remember has incredibly hot and spicy mee and overwhelmed that made me almost could not notice the sweet sotong.

I've only been there once, some years ago, and has never went back. It reminds me of my 2-years failed attempt with a girl. She was the one who brought me to the mee sotong place... :/

    1. Yes I got the correct one absolutely. Hameed pata mee! As engraved on the plate. You should go eat it again to get over linking it to the girl.

  9. I have not tried this stall but I believe they must be good too. There are several Mee Goreng stalls in Penang which are very good. One is at Bangkok Lane junction and the other is at the Ayer Itam Round about. Ask any Penang lang and they know.
