Good changes

A few days before CNY, I went to visit Penang Hill. My last trip here was in 1998. We arrived at about 7.30 am to take advantage of the MYR3 tram fees (both ways) from 7 am to 9 am during weekdays (not applicable during public holidays and school holidays) for locals.

Approaching Penang Hill. Multistorey carpark on the left.

Entrance to the tram station.

New Sky Walk

Development in progress

Mosque

Temple

What is this? This is the roof top of the owl museum.

Love?

Locks with love messages? I think I have seen something like this in China.

The owl museum - this was not here in 1998

Penang Hill has changed a lot since 1998 and the changes are for the better. It was a nice visit as the weather is cool here.

  2. Nice. Have not been to Penang Hill for a long long time, sure has changed. Dunno if I should go again now that I've developed this phobia of high places. Lately, all I did in Penang was to eat...eat and eat. LOL!!!

    1. I believe you will be ok in Penang Hill, won't feel you are on high grounds if you don't look down.

  5. Visited Penang many years ago. Been to the foot of Penang Hill, didn't catch the cable ride.

So if I am going there again, I would like to go up the hill in cable car.

    1. To me, cable cars are those that are hanging in the air without any tracks so there are no cable cars to go up to Penang Hill, only those trams/trains running on tracks.

    1. There is a signboard up there that says you have not been to Penang if you have not been up to Penang Hill.

  9. i cannot even remember when was the last time i went up to Bukit Bendera.. wait let me recall, probably when i was in Form 3 when the whole class went to Penang for a trip.. wow, that way more than 20 years ago, haha, sure there have been a lot of changes and development going on the hill.. there wasn't the multistorey carpark, there tram was that nice, there wasn't the skywalk, there wasn't the mosque and temple (or they were renovated??), there wasn't the museum..

  10. Would be interesting place to visit. I'm not going to Penang yet as it's a bit far to drive from KL.
