Rue Ee Teochew Fish Pot

This is the signature dish.

I believe we ordered the medium portion for our pre-cny get together dinner for those who couldn't join the reunion dinner on CNY eve. I expected the soup to be sourish but it was not so I was disappointed. The fish is dragon grouper so the skin is thick and chewy.

A popular beef tendon and pork knuckle dish.
Lo Hon Chye vegetarian dish with ginkgo nuts, cabbage, glass noodles and bean curd sheets.

Sambal sweet potatoes leaves and tofu wrapped in crispy but very oily bean curd sheets.

Rue Ee restaurant in OUG.

Our lunch on the same day.

Chicken hor fun is part of the lunch.

Breakfast for two pax on the same day.

  2. I like everything that you ate. Interesting that beef tendon and pork knuckle are cooked together.

    1. I wonder why they don't just use pork tendon.

    1. beef tendon, not beef meat. I wonder too why not just use pork tendon.

  5. Sounds disappointing for you as the fish soup was not sourish and flavourful and the beancurd sheets too oily.

  6. I like sourish food too. Though hubby always wants auspicious-sounding food when it comes to CNY (sour isn't a good thing).
