This is Chateraise, a famous cake and French pastry shop from Japan, 2nd branch in Malaysia located in Eat Paradise, Isetan, One Utama since mid June 2016. The first shop is located in KLCC since end March 2016. The price ranges from MYR9.80 nett for a slice of baked cheese cake to MYR18 for a glass of strawberry parfait. A packet of pre packed slice of cake (for example a slice of Japanese sponge cake) costs MYR4.80 nett.
I could not make up my mind what to try. Due to the high price I can only buy limited items and I want to be sure so I will go home and think of what to buy before coming here again.
Updated later:
From the comments asking me to try their top 3 best sellers, I would like to note here that the top 3 best sellers according to what I have read online are:
1. Legendary Fresh Cream Cake (MYR14.80 nett)2. White Zebra Mille Crepe (MYR14.80 nett) which is a slice of vanilla mille crepe
3. Baked Cheese Cake (MYR9.80 nett)
Out of the above three, I will most likely try the baked cheese cake because I do not quite like to eat fresh cream although I like to eat ice cream.
The price is high because the cakes and pastries use fresh cream from Hokkaido.
If I remember correctly, there is a Japanese bakery in Mid Valley. I think my missus did go and buy some stuff from there to try - did not get me running back for more. I bet things there would be as expensive as this one too. I sure can live without ever having eaten any of them or will happily settle for less.
ReplyDeleteI think the Japanese bakery you are referring to may be Komugi which sells mainly bread and some cakes. This one is more on cakes and pastries, less bread.
DeleteOoh. Must try at least once. I am sure it is good.
ReplyDeleteYes agreed but try which one - so many cakes.
DeleteYeah, I've heard about this Japanese patisserie and have been wanting to try. Since you can't make up your mind, I think you can't go wrong with their top 3 sellers...which will be a good start, right?
ReplyDeleteThe problem is I read some reviews about the top 3 sellers and don't think I would want to try those because the main thing is I don't like to eat fresh cream although I like to eat ice cream. Hope you will try the top 3 and write about it. Waiting to read your review first since you have been to the cakes and dessert fine dining place to eat before so you can compare them. Thanks in advance! :D
DeleteIs this new? I did not notice when I went up there some months ago to check out the ramen shops. Like you, I will think very hard which to cake to pick since it is so pricey.
ReplyDeleteIt has been there in One Utama since mid June 2016 so is quite new. If you like to eat fresh cream then go for their best seller 1 Legendary Fresh Cream Cake at MYR14.80 a slice.
DeleteJust go for the "recommended" ones first... ;)
ReplyDeleteBut I don't like to eat fresh cream leh....
DeleteOnce awhile, close eyes and pay high and enjoy the food/desserts! :)
ReplyDeleteBring your daughter to eat these cakes at One Utama, she will like it a lot I think.
DeleteI think I might checked out their best selling item and buy a piece to try.
ReplyDeleteYou may find them a bit too sweet for you I think since you do not like to eat sweet food.
DeleteI think I will like the vanilla mille crepe
ReplyDeleteChateraise is in Sg too so did you try?
DeleteOne of these days I am going to try it and will blog about it
DeleteHad checked, Chateraise in SG is at Jurong East, too far for me, so don't think I will go there
DeleteI thought that Chateraise has more than one branch in SG.
DeleteMaybe one day you may find yourself in Jurong east so you can go try or they may open more branches nearer to you.
DeleteI saw this bakery outlet last Saturday. The displays looked so yummy and colourful with high price tags!! RM18 for a small parfait. Faints!
ReplyDeleteI will go back at 9.30pm to see whether got lelong. LOL
Yes please update us whether got lelong or not later at night. Thanks in advance!
DeleteSo many new places in 1u recently! I didn't notice this one, but that's no wonder if it's inside Isetan.
ReplyDeleteIt is inside Isetan but right at the entrance to Eat Paradise, Isetan so you won't miss it.
DeleteI hardly go to Eat Paradise haha.
DeleteThat's why you didn't see it. :)
