Because I can't get enough of cendol when I was in Penang, I ordered cendol in KL with more ice and chee cheong fun (rolled up rice noodle) with the prawn paste sauce to be served separately to share between the two of us. Then they forgot to give me additional ice (foc) in the cendol so they served the extra ice in a separate bowl.
Chee Cheong Fun (rolled up rice noodles) in Penang style with prawn paste sauce and sesame seeds.
Both the items cost the same each at MYR6.50 nett. A much higher price than eating at road side hawker stalls but then for convenience and comfort sake, they are worth it.
At first when I saw your title, I thought by mistake that you want to talk about things like the EPF, but this is so unlike you cos you usually talk about food
ReplyDeleteThe CCF looks so delicious, I love CCF
Yes, CCF is easy to eat, simple and tasty. :)
DeleteOh yes, I would love to try the chendol too! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThey have an outlet in City Square, Johor so if you can drop by to try if you are around that area. :)
DeleteReally? Sometimes I will go City Square in JB, is the name of the eatery Pacific Taste?
DeleteNo, it is not. The name is Penang Road Famous TeoChew Chendul. Their website is http://www.chendul.my/ which lists out all their branches.
DeleteThe Mines? That's far! No outlet nearer to the city centre?
ReplyDeleteBtw, I was at the mall earlier today and I checked the prices at I love yoooo or what's the name. Yes, same here - RM5.60 also and one yew char koi is RM2 something. One!!! *faints* And people were queuing to buy! Gee!!! Everybody else must be so rich...except me. Sobssss!!!!!
Yes, they have an outlet in Quill City Mall which is in the middle of city centre, within walking distance of the Sultan Ismail LRT station.
DeleteThanks for the info. Good to know that the youtiao stall has the same price as here and not higher like you know the drinks in the cake chain store over at your side. ;p
The CCF and cendol look very tasty. Yums!
ReplyDeleteYums! :)
DeleteMat liu ar??? Shaved ice served separately?? Couldn't they take your cendol bowl back and top up more ice instead?
ReplyDeleteI suppose they would do so if I request them to do it that way but I prefer that they give me the extra ice in another bowl.
DeleteI just had this chendul recently too :)
ReplyDeleteHope to read about your experience with it. :)
DeleteOo looks good! Price would definitely be ok if you compare to the effort of making the whole thing yourself hehe.
ReplyDeleteVery true what you said above.
