This is the kiosk in One Utama. They have a bigger place in IPC.
Tokyo Secret is from Hong Kong and is famous for their cheese tarts. At MYR7.90 nett per tart, I am still thinking whether I should try it or not as I have read that although the cheese taste is strong which I like, it is not as strong as BAKE Cheese Tart (not opened here yet) so should I wait until I have eaten that (available in Japan, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore and Taipei) before eating this?
Another option in the Klang Valley is Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart at Empire Shopping Gallery which I almost never visit. A cheese tart there sells for MYR5.80 nett per piece but I have read online reviews that mentioned that the cheese taste is very light so for those who do not like the strong taste of cheese, you may go for the Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart instead. A few bakeries have also started selling cheese tarts as well. One example is the Lavender bakery - it is selling Cheese Tarts now at MYR6 nett per piece.
Would like to try it, even though I am not really a fan of cheese
ReplyDeleteBake has the nicest cheese tart and it has a shop in Singapore so you can go and try it.
DeleteYes, Bake Cheese Tart Singapore is located at ION Orchard #B4-33 (Orchard MRT), Opening Hours: 10am – 10pm
DeleteBut one cheese tart at S$3.50 each, not cheap
DeleteI heard that the queue is long too.
DeleteIt is even more expensive here after conversion.
DeleteI would buy one to try, just one.
ReplyDeleteMy ex-student here makes very nice ones to sell but at RM13.50 for 6, butter and cheese don't come cheap, I would not be buying them all that often, I'm afraid even though they are so very nice. Just gave me some cupcakes last night and gosh, the buttery fragrance, so very nice.
Can buy them once in a while to eat, MYR13.50 for 6 is quite ok, not like this MYR7.90 for 1 only.
DeleteYeah, get one and try since it is not so cheap.. hehehee.. just to taste..
ReplyDeleteIn Dec this year, I will get at least two to try - one to eat while hot and one to eat after being in the fridge.
DeleteIf the cheese taste is strong, then it is not for me :(
ReplyDeleteI think it would be ok for you since you can eat cheese cake unlike my spouse who cannot even stand the taste of cheese or milk or butter in cheese cakes. Do try it ok and let me know how it is, hehehehe, thanks. :)
DeleteI tried already, the cold version, was kept in the fridge cause SIL bought from KL, quite nice!
ReplyDeleteNext time want to try the warm version :p
Next time when you come to visit KL, can try the warm version then. :)
DeleteHmm, I think, if is Japan inspired, anyhow won't be strong in terms of cheese taste. Imagine Japanese cheese cake...
ReplyDeleteAs it is for the public, I think the taste will suit most people for them to make the most profit. Say if one can eat normal cheese cakes and pizzas, should be able to enjoy the cheese taste here.
DeleteI like to read your blogs as you always updated me many new eatery outlets like this one too.
ReplyDeleteI went to GoNoodles twice and gave up. The queue outside was too long and I could not wait longer than 15 minutes. I was hungry like a Himalayan Vultures!
Ya better go eat elsewhere since you are too hungry to queue. Next time maybe go earlier. Still got plenty of time.
DeleteOk...I didn't know the tart is that pricey but I still love to try for once.
ReplyDeleteYou have eaten Bake cheese tarts in Hokkaido recently, right?
DeleteWah lao eh... 7.90. I tried the one from Lavender and already thought rm6 was pricy.
ReplyDeleteI walked past this stall a few times that day and the queue got LONGER and LONGER!
So how does the one from Lavender taste like? More cheese taste or more milk taste?
DeleteCheese. I have no idea how it's SUPPOSED to taste like.
DeleteI guess you need to eat a cheese tart from Tokyo Secret to compare then. :)
