One of Each

What do you do when you do not know which one to buy? Just get one of each type and try them all to find your favourite to buy next time. I don't even know how much each item costs above, the seller just pick one each for me and tell me the total price to pay.

  1. haha!! yes, give me five!! I would have do the same too, probably not because I do not know which to choose, but because I wanna try everything!! so getting one of each will be the best "solution" for me, hehehe!! let's see, there is curry puff, kaya puff, egg tart, coconut tart, pineapple tart, siew bao, chicken pie, lotus biscuits.... errr, just guessing from the photo :)

    1. I bought them before April 1 so the total price was MYR15.20 and I guess now should be more expensive.

  3. Hee, hee! Yes, I like to try one of each too! Then I know next time which is my favourite. :-)

  4. So what's the total price? These things don;t come cheap no more - even a lousy bun with half a sausage stuck inside will cost RM2 or more. :(

  8. There's 13 in there, Mun. I don't think you can eat (or try) all that unless you're talking about taking one bite only. Who ended up eating all that?

    1. Ah, you counted them. I did not eat those common ones like pork siew bao and chicken siew bao - gave those to my spouse. And I took a few days to eat them.

  9. You bought all these, or you watched someone else buy these?? I cannot imagine you buying so many! You are supposed to be a small eater from what I have seen so far. This kind of loot you usually associate with people like me or PH XD

    1. I like the mini tarts - egg tarts, apple tarts, pineapple tarts. Also a pineapple pastry that melts in the mouth but someone told me it is full of trans fat that's why melt in the mouth.

    2. Ya, someone once told me the reason why the egg tart pastry is so flaky and buttery is because it has pork oil in them! I guess really good tasting stuff are never healthy :(

    3. Tong Kee has two types of egg tart - one with butter and one with pork lard. You can test them to see which one has more flaky pastry.

  14. I would do the same too because I want to try everything. Then when I want to eat, I would cut half for hubby to try also. If he doesn't want, then it goes into my mouth...hehe.

    1. When I eat bread, I tend to only eat plain wholemeal sliced bread, not those fancy bread rolls sold in nice bakery shop. You don't have to buy pastries because you know how to make nice tasty pastries yourself at home.
