Still affordable?

MYR0.99 per 100g for Chicken Breast

MYR0.79 per 100g for 9 pieces cut of a chicken. Please click on the photo to get a larger image.

Is this price lower than the price at wet market?

MYR9.90 per kg for chicken breast so both places sell chicken breast meat at the same price. I guess chicken keel is cheaper than drumsticks and since I like to eat chicken breast meat I only check out their prices. I think some may say must buy organic chicken because of the hearsay growth hormones used. Well if you can afford organic chicken by all means buy them if you wish.

  3. I'm the opposite of you, I like dark meat so I like drumsticks and thighs. I basically only eat chicken legs but I would eat white meat (breasts, wings) if my dear cooks it. I wouldn't order it though.

    1. Oh, I did not know that chicken drumsticks and thighs meat are considered dark meat. I thought only duck meat, beef, lamb are dark meat.

    2. Yeah, it's dark meat. Beef and lamb would be red meat, a different kind of classification...

    3. Thanks for letting me know that dark meat and red meat are different.

  4. Still cheap. Those in wet market also pretty competitive. Need to know which one to buy and some give you discount if you are their regulars. ^^

  5. You check them for what, you never cook what... XD

I only go organic on vegetables. I don't think there is organic chicken lah, just kampung chicken or free range chicken. But they are out of my budget already. And the reason I buy organic vegetables is not such a noble, health related reason. My reason is that I am too lazy to wash each piece of vegetable thoroughly to get rid of the pesticide and it's accompanying horrible taste..

    1. So where do you buy your chicken meat?

    2. Tesco hehe. Hubby gets his from the market to boil soup, usually kampung chicken. I find kampung chicken too tough and stringy to eat.

    3. Wah so you and your husband make the effort to eat different types of chicken.
