New Menu House of Pok

Rice with two dishes of our choice from category A - salted fish pork and napa cabbage pork ribs tiny scallops soup at MYR 15.90++ (5% service charge and 6% sst = MYE 17.65 nett). There was a lot of soft napa cabbages in the soup so we like that. The salted fish pork is tasty too.

Congee with two dishes from Category B - choy sum and two braised hard boiled egg at MYR 11.90++ (MYR 13.209 nett). I will always order congee here because I like this type of congee instead of those very smooth congee. Braised hard boiled eggs are a must for me.

Total bill for 2 pax at House of Pok, Midvalley Mall - MYR 30.85 nett. It opens early at 10 am so just right for us because we like to eat brunch early at around 10 am. We were at another eatery earlier but the manager requested us to sit in a crowded area because he said the section we were sitting at is not open yet  even though everything looks fine at that section so we walked out to look for a less crowded restaurant and House of Pok it is then because it was too early for lunch so many tables are available.

Peach Gum dessert is very popular now.

I noticed they have added many dishes to their menu since 2018 so we may eat here more often to try out the new dishes.

We ordered A15 this time. Will try A16 pork chop next time..

ordered A24 this time. Will try A21 petai pork next time.

Dishes in Category B.

This time B11 is our choice because we wanted a vege dish.

B16 is a must for me.

Will try the MYR 29.90++ soup next time.

Pork lard rice is not for me as I don't like the taste of pork lard.

Will not order drinks here unless very thirsty. Please click on the above menu for a larger image to see the choices  of drinks available.
Top up with some food from Honolulu Cafe before we go home. This time the egg tart was under baked so the egg custard fillings were wobbly soft and has a bit of liquid on it. The pastry crust tasted doughy near the egg custard fillings.

  3. Bith set looked good. I like salted fish pork. And braised egg too. But I would go for A. More of a rice person.

  7. This style of congee as in look like soup rice that type?

I've not gone back to House of Pok since our first visit. Kids don't like it as food there is similar to their daily food. It's actually not bad right, and good value for money too.

    1. Yes, the sets are good value for money, perfect for people like me who don't cook at home. No, the congee is not those Teochew congee with rice floating in soup. This is like when you cook rice in lots of water until the rice all melted but it is not slippery smooth and thick like Cantonese style congee.
