Mamee Monster Fish N Chips

Deep Fried Dory Fish and Chips Set at MYR 25 nett with mushroom soup and a free flow soft drink (7 up or it could be sprite - I could not distinguish between them).

Deep Fried Calamari with Chipotle Sauce - MYR 14 nett.

I could not believe that they now serve fish and chips on a large sheet of paper as I have not been to this eatery since my last visit in 2014 so it has been 5 years.

The dory fish fillet is coated with Mamee Monster Noodles so it tastes like Mamee Monster Noodles. Fans of Mamee Monster should give this a try. I tried it out of curiosity and curiosity did kill the cat here.

I have to remind the staff about the mushroom soup because they have forgotten to serve it. The soup is tasty as there are tiny pieces of blended mushrooms in it so I finished drinking it and did not need to eat any dinner after this late lunch at 3.30 pm. I gave the two slices of garlic bread to my friend.

They now have a Tartar Station where customers can help themselves to any or all of the Tartar sauces. The choices are BBQ Tartar, Lime Tartar, Curry Tartar, Original Tartar, Grapefruit Tartar and Thousand Island Sauce. I tried a bit of Grapefruit Tartar and Thousand Island Sauce. I wanted to try Lime Tartar too but the nozzle was blocked so nothing appeared when I pressed the Lime Tartar Sauce dispenser.

I did not bother to join the contest whatever it is.

Total bill for 2 pax is MYR 39 nett.

The Manhattan Fish Market (MFM) at Midvalley Mall has a new look now. The renovation completed just a few months ago this year. After this visit, it will definitely be more than 5 years for me to eat here again.

Opposite MFM, there is a very long queue at the new Tiger Sugar Boba drink kiosk which has just started business in Midvalley Mall. Fortunately I am not curious about Boba drinks so I am not going to try any of the drinks at any of these drink places that have sprouted all over the Klang Valley. By the end of next year, I would expect not to see them any more.

    1. The mamee noodles covered the taste of the dory so it is more acceptable.

  4. Oh, there is such a thing? I wonder how they coat the fish with the Mamee noodles like that. The Tiger Sugar at Starling is doing roaring business. I too wonder how long they will sustain.

  5. serving fish & chips on the paper? wahlao….looks so cheapo! then they expect people to eat using hands? I like mamee, but I tink the mamee doesn't pair well with fish...I would rather buy a 50 cents packet of mamee and eat separately rather than spoiling the taste of the fish.

    1. Utensils are provided at the tartar sauce station so customers who don't want to eat with hands can take the utensils themselves. surprisings the mamee noodles improved the taste of dory fish.

  6. My kids would go nuts over the mamee monster coating. Also it comes with potato chips/crisps... confirm will go nuts!

I tried JLD just to see what the hype was all about. And I still don't get it... drink was nice enough but tasted like Tealive which is half the price.

    1. must ask them for crisps instead of fries although I didn't do so. I had to google for what JLD is. oh, it is the dragon. I think it is the pearls boba everyone is after, not the drink.

  8. Deep fried Calamari for me. I think kids would love the Mamee Fish and chips because of the Mamee flavour.
