Little Jungle Coffee House

My friend living around Rawang area informed me about this new cafe in my neighbourhood so I went to try out the food there. Geng Chow Bing coffee at MYR 4.50 nett. I would translate Geng Chow (cantonese) as magnificent. Bing means ice. I guess it is referring to that block of ice made from coffee. The kaya butter croissant costs MYR 5.20 nett and is easy to eat with sweet kaya and no buttery taste.

We finished the coffee but the block of ice is still there. It didn't melt much so I guess it didn't add much coffee taste to the glass of coffee.

Pork wine noodles at MYR 8.50 nett. The wine is served separately in a small bowl. The porky parts such as liver and kidney have acceptable taste but the broth is just clear soup, not pork bone broth. It even has choy poh (pickled vegetable) in it so I wouldn't call this pork noodles but clear soup noodles with porky parts (ching tong).

On another visit, we ate the blue pea flower nasi lemak at MYR 8.90 nett. Not much coconut milk taste in the rice for those looking for this taste which is not me so I don't mind.

These are the recommended food and drinks.

They are closed on alternate Thursday.

Menu for the food.

Drinks menu.

Interior at the proper shop section.

The extension to the shop which has a few stalls. The ceiling boards look old like they are in danger of falling down.

Little Jungle Coffee House at Happy Garden, Jalan Rukun, started business in this location on 3 July so it is a young shop.

At the far end, I noticed a shop with a light green name board.

Decades Cafe selling Chee Cheong Fun. Some articles online said it opened for business here around Aug 2018. I must visit it one day because I like to eat ccf.

*** updated on 28Jul2019 Sunday

Teochew pork knuckle mee mixed mee hoon at MYR 8 nett.

Very smooth tofufa at MYR 3.50 nett per bowl. Not much soya taste.

Croissant Kaya Butter looks like this when opened up.

  1. Interesting name. Great idea, coffee ice cubes. I always order iced coffee and it gets kinda diluted when the ice melts.

    1. the thing is, they also put plain water ice cubes in this drink which melted all of them so the coffee could be diluted by the plain water ice cubes too.

  2. They are very clever to invent coffee ice cube. I like the name of the shop, little jungle and i also like the red bricks wall inside the shop.

    1. I believe that the red bricks wall inside the shop is just a wall paper so if you like it, you could put the wall paper in your condo too. :)

  3. It could be better if the coffee is frozen into regular ice cubes but then it won't be so dramatic hee..hee..

    1. it makes sense to use smaller coffee ice cubes and no regular ice cubes to ensure the coffee is not diluted.
