Bye CNY 2019 and Cinnabon

Did you celebrate Chap Goh Meh yesterday?  CNY day 15 is the last day for CNY celebrations but my friends and I ate vegetarian meals at Medifoods, PJ instead of celebrating with rich food because on day 1 and day 15, they usually eat vegetarian food. As usual, I ordered the daily lunch set at MYR 13.80 nett (last year's price was MYR 12.74 nett).

This year, there is a change for this daily lunch set. Instead of the 3 fixed dishes, customers can now choose 3 dishes from about 10 dishes, just like those mixed rice stalls. My three choices are: a blend of tofu with some other unknown-to-me ingredients which I like very much, four angled beans and brinjals. Included in this lunch set: a bowl of lotus root and dates soup, and a plate of papaya and raw jicama to share between the 4 of us.

My 3 friends ordered the Vegetarian Bak Kut Teh at MYR 14.62 nett each because it is their favourite vegetarian dish here and had it with rice (small portion). For takeaways, an extra MYR 0.50 nett is charged for the plastic food container.

I have always been tempted by this sight.

Bought one mini pecanbon at MYR 5.90 nett

Sweet. Shared by two pax. Will only buy it once in a blue moon to be shared as dessert because it is rich and sweet.

Just one mini pecanbon.

  1. Same as you, I also had vegetarian food on Chap Goh Meh. Post in my blog. I like what you ordered. Cinnabon reminded me that Mac used to serve Cinnamon Melts which I like to eat but cannot eat too much as it is very sweet.

  2. So good you can choose 3 dishes from 10 dishes just like mixed rice stall, for me, the vegetarian outlet I frequent only have one fixed vegetarian set meal each day, but they change the set everyday.
