Angcle Peoh

After reading Submerryn's post about the best Char Kway Teow, during the long weekend, I gathered 3 of my friends and we went all the way to Klang (60km journey one way) just for Penang food. My brother who lives in Penang laughed at me for going to Klang to eat Penang food. As we have traveled so far just for the food, we ordered 5 bowls of noodle to share between the 4 of us.

Assam Laksa - MYR6.90 (add 6% GST to this price)
Fresh ingredients and not so heavy broth = tasty

Duck Egg Char Kway Teow - MYR8.90 (add 6% GST to this price)
Not for those who does not like the taste of duck eggs

Curry noodle - MYR6.90 (add 6% GST to this price)
Rich curry but no pork blood

Prawn Noodle - MYR6.90 (add 6% GST to this price)
Good enough

Pork noodle - MYR6.90 (add 6% GST to this price)
Not the best but acceptable

Different chili for different noodles

Herbal Tea Hot - MYR2.50, Cendol - MYR5 (add 6% GST to this price)
I still prefer the other cendol franchise

If only I live nearby I will eat here more often
No service charge, GST 6% = yes

  1. Klang is always such a "faraway" place to me and I definitely don't purposely go there to makan, haha!! so you traveled 60km with your makan kaki there, I think this is kind of a fun trip, for a long weekend, okay lah, hehe!!

all the food seem to be nice, the CKT and the curry (yes, no pork blood is perfect for me, and I see they have lots of sotong??) and also the prawn mee would be my pick.. the cendol, okay I think I know which chain you are referring to.. :p

  2. I thought you don't take spicy food? The curry noodle looks tempting to me, I can smell it right now

    1. The CKT is my order and the rest of the food is not very spicy.

  3. You are very closed to my sibling's place. The other day my husband mentioned that it was so amazing that people would drive several hours to a place just to eat. He liked it, but French people don't usually do this. Once we drove to Ipoh just to eat dim sum.

  6. A few people have blogged about this place - love the play with the sounds, Ang and uncle even though it ends up looking more like "ankle" misspelt. LOL!!! Food looks really good, pricier but that's to be expected when going for these at such places. Not cheap at Little Penang in KL either...and I quite like some of the stuff there too.

  8. I love all 5 of these noodles but they say it's not authentic Penang curry mee if there's no coagulated pork blood ;) From the looks of it, I think the assam laksa probably tastes the best of the 5!

    1. I think Penang curry mee has coagulated duck blood.

    2. I've never heard of stalls selling coagulated duck blood...never eaten it before, only eaten pig and chicken blood. The blood in Penang curry mee is pig blood...usually!
