Hot Teh Tarik - MYR3.45 and Nasi Lemak Beef Rendang - MYR10.55 - quite a lot of beef cubes in the beef rendang. They gave us a lot of sambal too which we only ate a bit so wasted. One of the better nasi lemak around. The prices stated in this post are inclusive of 5% service charge and 6% GST on top of the food and service charge. The price they put on the menu is only inclusive of the 6% GST.
I did not notice this eatery before at The Curve. Perhaps it is a new place? Or is it I am just too unobservant?
Unique chairs. I dare not lean against the back railing of the chair because it does not seem comfortable to do so.
There's one place in 1U called The Warong. Have you tried that? Their nasi lemak is also good. I frequent them quite often.
ReplyDeleteI have been to The Warong at Midvalley but not at 1U. Will go search for it the next time I am at 1U. Thanks for recommending it.
DeleteSometimes designers seem to forgo comfort for the sake of cool design.
ReplyDeleteThe "chairs" used to be stools so maybe the designers thought they are being helpful to provide some support for the backs.
DeleteOh dear! I wonder if those stools can take me weight or not. I had very good nasi lemak too the other day, RM7.00, not really cheap...but of course, at such places in the malls, one would expect to fork out a bit more...for the comfort and the class.
ReplyDeleteI think the wooden stools are more sturdy than plastic chairs so should be ok for you. Nasi lemak at those new style kopitiam franchise is about or more expensive than this price.
DeleteOooo, I love that plate of nasi lemak so much, lots of meat, lots of sambal, I like !!
ReplyDeleteYou can eat all the sambal?
DeleteOooo. I love that nasi lemak and teh tarik! My kind of breakfast. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteYou are right! It is yummy! :D
Deletehave not tried this eatery but I can say this is not new at all, it's been there for many years already if not mistaken.. or maybe it was some other similar watery selling kopitiam food, haha, can't really be clear about that since just walk passed every time without stopping to have a look or even go in to makan :p
ReplyDeleteI found a blog that review this outlet in The Curve in 2010 but the looks of this outlet is a bit different then. I believe they renovated it.
Deletethey have quite a few branches all around KL
ReplyDeleteAnd they also welcome people to apply for franchise licence.
DeleteThe rendang looks tender and nice but quite a bit of oil in the sambal, yes?
ReplyDeleteNow that you mentioned the oil, I only see it from the photo. This is because we did not eat much of the sambal, just eat a bit only.
DeleteThis place is coming up everywhere. I even saw one in Camerons in a new building!
ReplyDeleteHmm if they're going to put a banana leaf under the nasi lemak, put a green leaf la... hehe.
This is a young banana leaf gua so it is very light yellowish green. I guess many people apply to take up their franchising licence, that's why you see them everywhere.
DeleteThe beef rendang is quite a generous helping. And the sambal too. Worth the price paid! Hope it was good.
ReplyDeleteIt tastes really good!
Deletenasi lemak looks good but too mch beef for me.
ReplyDeleteI think Korean grilled beef from raw slices are much more.
DeleteI also don't know this place at The Curve, I guess every time I went The Curve I only go to the places I want to go then leave, hahaha......
ReplyDeleteGuess I did the same too.
DeleteOooo...makes me drool looking at the nasi lemak...I love beef and plenty of sambal, this is my kind of nasi lemak!
ReplyDeleteYou will mix all the sambal into the rice to finish up everything?
DeleteThe nasi lemak beef rending looks so good though I don't take beef, lamb would be good also
ReplyDeleteI think there is chicken rendang, not sure if they have lamb rendang.
Delete*beef rendang
ReplyDeleteThanks for clarifying this.
DeleteNasi lemak looks tasty, although I've never tried one. So curious about the taste!
ReplyDeleteYou will get to taste Nasi Lemak in New York City! :)
DeleteI used to go there often with buddies after night classes at the FF Gym nearby.
ReplyDeleteIt's the cheapest and most convenience for us sweaty looking guys to laze. I have to say their services are terrible and never improved with wrong orders & wrong billings always. I even heard the customers yelling at them. Funny people!
Or is it? They must have improved then because I find their service ok but maybe because it is in the morning and you go at night.
