Which part?

Tomato Chicken, Celery, Angled Beans, Acar with a very small portion of rice - MYR7.50 - I guess the piece of chicken this time is a little bigger so the whole dish is no longer MYR7 like the previous times

I only like to eat chicken breast meat so when it comes to selecting the correct part of the chicken meat  from the dish, I take a long time because I am trying hard to tell which part is the chicken breast meat. Sometimes I got it wrong and took a chicken thigh or chicken ribs so too bad, I also need to finish eating it. Can you tell which part is which when the chicken parts are all covered in sauce or gravy?

  1. Oh my, the breast is the part I dreaded to eat as I find it too dry. I love thigh and drumstick. So if you and I eat KFC, we will be very good combo. You take the breast and I take the rest :P

    1. Kfc is easier to tell than chapfan chicken pieces.

  3. I still think that's very expensive!

    Haha!

Well, according to my calculation, the chicken should be RM 4, RM 1 for rice, and each of the vegetables for it to be RM 8 (or rather RM 7.50).

I like to go to places where they don't charge that much for veggies. Too kiasu to pay so much. :D

    1. Vegetables are MYR1.5 to 2 for a serving. Do let me know if you find air cond places with very attractive price for veggies, ok?

  4. Good morning Mun!! how's your weekend?? hope you had a great one.. :)

hmm, when it comes to chicken part, same as you, I like the upper part or some people call it the "white meat".. breast or ribs (some call it side breast) and wings.. I definitely don't fancy thigh and drumstick..

if I go to AFC I never failed to request for ribs, or if I am having two piece then ribs and breast.. I just prefer the leaner and less fat part of the chicken, and I guess chances that I see uncooked meat and blood water oozing out of these parts are less than thigh and drumstick??

Wishing you a great day and a wonderful week ahead!! :)

  5. Wings and thighs are easily recognizable, but the breast is hard, it looks the same as parts other than wings and thighs. That's why when I eat zhap fan, I mostly only go for pork :D
Eh I thought acar is red red one? That one is kerabu kot?

    1. This is halal place, no pork for you. :D This is acar not kerabu because the vegetables in this dish are pickled vegetables - taste sourish sweet. Kerabu is usually raw ulam.

  6. I'd eat any part...but for duck, I would prefer the breast.

  8. I'm quite sure this is the chicken thigh...why is my most favourite part of all! I have no problems recognising the different parts of the chicken, so I always end up with the right part that I want ;)

  9. I do the opposite - try not to pick the breast hah..hah... It is quite hard to tell when the chicken is cut into pieces and tossed with sauce.

  10. it's hard to tell if covered in sauces. Anyhow i usually take veggies for 'chap fan'. Or if i take chicken, i prefer drumstick ;-)

  11. That looks like chicken breast meat as you only prefer that. I am also the same. Ha ha!

  12. Oo good for you la. Most people avoid breastmeat. Ya la must go through careful selection process to get meaty parts! Pretty tough when chicken is chopped up small, not too bad when it's a single piece like in your pic.

    1. Yay! I know some people just can't understand why we prefer chicken breast part to other parts.
