CNY Eve

On Friday 9.feb.2024, at 9 am ish we walked to Tim Won coffee shop and bought lunch for the elderly. Later in the evening, kid3 will prepare dinner for the elderly. As we see the elderly daily, not sure to consider this dinner as CNY reunion dinner or not since there will only be us 3 who sees each other daily since kid1, 2, 4 are not around on this day.

*** Reunion Dinner ***

5.30 pm - the 3 dishes that he prepared for dinner for the elderly and himself. I just watched them eat as I have completed my omad earlier.

The 3 dishes:
1. Salted dong guai steamed chicken 1 whole leg MYR 15 nett and he added bunapi mushrooms to this dish
2. Ka hiong chai MYR 26 which he added Fu Yu to it and served half and kept half portion.
3. Liver waxed sausages with remaining siew yuk and carrots from the ka hiong chai dish.

Frozen cooked food from Chef Yaw aka Laow Di Fang eatery.

*** Our brunch ****

9.41 am - we shared a wanton noodles pork trotters MYR 13 nett. Ordered with soup but they gave us dry but still ok so we didn't mention it but just eat.

One cold Cham for me and one cold Coffee O for him from Tim Won coffee shop. Total price MYR 7.80 nett which we paid in all coins. 😂 Luckily the boss didn't scold me.

*** Elderly's Lunch ***

12.39 noon - bought the same dish for the elderly - wanton noodles soup pork trotters MYR 13 nett. The elderly ate all the wanton noodles so we are now very sure wanton noodles Soup is a favourite dish. Kid3 ate the remaining pork trotters, not much meat, just collagen goodness from the skin. Kid3 added in the egg 🍳 which was supposed to be half boiled egg but turned out to be onsen egg due to overcooking. 😂

So on CNY eve, the brunch and lunch could be considered as auspicious meals with name such as 横财就手 dish.

I wrote about it a few years back:

Dinner will be 3 of us but only 2 eating as I have already completed my omad because I ate the remaining frozen nasi lemak from a few days ago and the remaining McD fried chicken wing side breast meat from Wednesday to clear the fridge.
