Goat Cheese Courgette Quiche

On Thursday 5.aug.21, we stayed home the whole day and ordered one food delivery and one dragon fruits delivery of Grade 2A red dragon fruits at 4 for MYR 20 nett. Transport fees is a flat MYR 8 nett so we bought 8 for MYR 48 nett delivered directly from the farm.

*** Tommy Le Baker - Tue 3.aug.21 ***

I have always wanted to eat quiches so when I saw that this bakery sells quiches, I bought all 3 types to try.

This bakery is on mb sama Sama lokal too and currently is having a promotion of MYR 8 off. No quiche on their menu there. Mostly sandwiches.

At 5.51 pm, I placed my order online and received them at 6.57 pm at:

From wiki:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quiche

"Quiche is a French tart consisting of pastry crust filled with savoury custard and pieces of cheese, meat, seafood or vegetables. The best-known variant is quiche Lorraine, which includes lardons or bacon. Quiche can be served hot or cold."

Tue 3.aug.21 7.23 pm - goat cheese courgette quiche at room temperature MYR 22.80 nett. Goat cheese lovers would love this quiche as the goat cheese taste is strong.

There are many slices of green and yellow courgettes in the eggy omelette-like fillings which is about 1 inch thick. I ate 80% on Tue night itself and 20% as brunch on Wed noon. The pastry short crust is on the sweet side and taste like thick crackers.

Wed 4.aug.21 7.45 pm - Scottish salmon quiche MYR 25 nett. I ate it cold direct from the fridge. 80% as wed dinner and the remaining 20% is still in my fridge. I like the taste of this quiche the best as I like the taste of salmon the best. It is the saltiest of the 3 types of quiches. The fillings don't taste eggy.

Thu 5.aug.21 1.44 pm - I ate this whole slice of chicken and artichoke quiche MYR 20 nett as my lunch on Thu. The artichokes have a nice unique taste and there are huge chunks of chicken meat in the fillings which is not eggy. I ate it cold direct from the fridge. The shortcrust pastry taste like sweet scones because it is very buttery so I am very full after eating the whole slice.

Tue 7.16 pm - I like the packaging. The goat cheese quiche at room temperature is wrapped in a piece of brown paper. The two cold quiches are wrapped in cling film before being wrapped by white paper. There is a small complimentary item. What could it be?

Tue 7.17 pm - it is a slice of dessert. I couldn't figure out what it is and he said it is compacted bread. He can taste butter, choc, raisins. I ask the bakery what it is and they say roti kueh which I found on their menu as shown below.

Roti kueh is sourdough bread and butter pudding.

The address of the bakery.

Looks good in the photo on the menu.

May buy this again.

The artichokes taste is delicious.

Tue 6.57 pm Good that they use brown paper bags.

*** Thu 5.aug.21 ***

12.06 noon - he finally ate all the pork trotter vinegar bought on Sat 31.jul.21 with brown rice cooked on Sun 1.aug.21 for lunch. Took so long, 5 days, to finish eating this dish. That's because I didn't eat it because I couldn't stand the strong pork taste.

  1. I always thought u can stand strong pork taste coz u r ok with mutton/beef/cheese. The roti kueh reminds me of bread pudding though it is a different item.

    1. I love the taste of beef, mutton, cheese, durian but can't stand strong pork or strong chicken taste. Ya the roti kueh is something like bread pudding but bread pudding is kind of wet, this one is quite firm and not wet.

    4. I bought from MAS bakery. What I haf, I can't remember well. I think chicken/beef with lots mushroom, cheese and tomato etc. Maybe too thick and mushy so I dont enjoy it. I like something thinner or crispier like pizza. Lol.

  4. Oohh I love quiche! This is one food I happily eat cold from the fridge as I used to do that as a student. Of course these were cheap in the UK.

    2. I first tried these at the career talks sponsored by the accounting firms. I'd attend just to stuff my face with quiche afterwards hahaha. They weren't expensive (compared to here) at supermarkets there though.
