Affordable Authentic Taste

J's Gate Dining is a spacious, clean and modern food court located in Lot 10, KL that houses 16 authentic Japanese eateries together on one floor. I have been there once before all 16 eateries were opened for business so it is time to visit again.

Chicken Ramen (No Pork, No Lard) at MYR 18.88 nett from the Kagura Stall/Eatery. The soup is rich with collagen so my friend drank it all without leaving a single drop.

A single eel (unagi) rice bowl at MYR 18.99 nett, a single piece of eel at MYR 15.99 nett and one single serving of rice at MYR 2.99 nett from Bonta Bonta Stall/Eatery (No Pork, No Lard). The piece of eel is grilled until the sweet sauce on it is caramelised so it is very tasty. It is not too sweet and the eel is firm yet soft enough.

This is the Bonta Bonta eatery.

We saw this delicious looking salmon roll at the table next to us so we decided to order it as well. Salmon roll at MYR 25 nett from Kaisen Don Kinme stall/eatery (No Pork, No Lard). The salmon roll is served on a cold stone to keep it fresh and the tray was so heavy when I carried it from the stall to our table.

Side view. One piece was eaten. It is as tasty as it looks. The two rice bowls below are from the same stall/eatery as this salmon roll.

Salmon Don at MYR 18 nett. It includes a bowl of miso soup with kelp. The raw salmon slices are so fresh and tasty that after eating this salmon don, I don't think I will ever order and eat salmon sashimi in my go-to-sushi-eatery again.

Salmon Teriyaki Don at MYR 20 nett. Usually I don't order teriyaki food because I find the sauce to be too sweet but this teriyaki sauce is not too sweet so I find it scrumptious on the fresh grilled salmon.

Please click on the above photo for a larger view of the receipts. The best part is that all the stalls/eateries accept credit card payments with no restriction on the amount. I have now tried 4 of the 16 eateries and there are 12 more to go. Looking through the eateries gallery here, they all sound and look so tempting so which one should I try next.

  1. 12 more eateries for you to try, that is good, at least can have a variety of food to eat, rather than eat the same thing again and again, I don't mind drinking the soup of ramen though I am not really into ramen

    1. The P1-02 Tendon looks like the one I had eaten at Changi Airport T2

    2. This J's Gate Dining looks like having the same concept as our Japan Gourmet Hall where they house different types of Jap food under one roof

  2. Haven't had Japanese for ages, no really good one here now. Luckily I'm not really a fan - my girl enjoys it very much though.

  6. I like this catchy name Bonta Bonta! The Japanese food is always delicious and tasty with small servings that I would never overeat. I often dreamt that I would be happy to live permanently in Japan and eat their Nihon food every meal.

  7. Unagi is expensive, you get so little for the price. I always need other things to pad up the meal.

    1. This piece is quite enough if you eat it with the rice and egg set.
