YuBake

On Tuesday 21.jun.22, ordered 2 Foodpanda deliveries and went out to buy pan Mee that is specially requested by the elderlies but the pan Mee stall is closed.

*** Pandan layer cake ***

1 pm - this pandan layer cake from YuBake is tasty. I saw it on Foodpanda and want to eat it so I bought it. Will buy it again.

Since I am buying the pandan layer, might as well I buy more cakes so I bought a cheese Taro cake. The top layer is non bake cheese cake and the middle layer is taro paste. The bottom layer is the cookie crust base which has honey or maybe caramel in it because it is quite sweet. I prefer baked cheese cake but I keep forgetting about it so I keep buying non baked cheese cake.

A box of 3 cakes from Yu Bake.

The chocolate cake is for him to eat during tea time.

After discounts, the total price of the 3 cakes is around MYR 35 so it is about MYR 11.70 per slice.

*** Ipoh Chicken Noodle stall ***

10.30 am - we shared this Lam Mee from Tuck Tuck Tei for late breakfast. The default noodles is thick fat noodles. The broth reminds me of the broth of kway Chap which is also dark in colour with 5 spice taste.

Ordered lam yee Mee and Ipoh chicken drumsticks hor fun for the Elderlies but got a call requesting pan Mee from swee hing coffee shop for lunch so we kept the above noodles for our meals and went out to swee hing coffee shop to buy takeaway pan Mee. Average price of each pack of noodles after discount is about MYR 11.80 with foc delivery fees.

Wanted to buy thong Kee Ipoh chicken hor fun but it is closed on Foodpanda so ordered from Tuck Tuck Tei coffee shop instead.

*** Durian Ice Cream Stick ***

Sat 18.jun.22 1.40 pm - the two of us shared this durian ice cream stick as dessert after lunch. The durian taste is authentic. Very tasty. This ice cream will fulfill durian cravings when there is no fresh durian supply around.

Side view. The ice cream is quite thick. After eating it, can taste yummy durian in the mouth for the whole day.

Bought 4 nescafe Gold Cappuccino Ice Cream and 4 nestle Musang King ice cream from pandamart and got MYR 3.20 off.

*** Monday 20.jun.22 ***

11 am - nasi lemak pork curry from Fa Cai coffee shop Sri Petaling.

Used a MYR 4 off voucher for a minimum spending of MYR 10 on shopeefood app.

3.30 pm - stir fry beef hor fun from Dim Sum House. I like it. He ate a bit because he says he doesn't prefer beef taste.

Used a MYR 5 off voucher for a minimum spending of MYR 7 on shopeefood app.

6 pm - pork mihun soup from Fat Boy Coffee Shop Kuchai Lama for shared dinner. The broth tastes strongly of fried garlic and preserved tong choy.

Used a MYR 4 off voucher for a minimum spending of MYR 10 on shopeefood app to buy pork mihun soup for dinner.

4.18 pm - ate all the steamed fish ginger gravy from Saturday which has solidified into solid jelly due to the collagen from the fish skins.

Lor Mee Tim Won

On Sunday 19.jun.22, went to Tuck Tuck Tei coffee shop at Taman Desa to buy food.

*** Saturday 18.jun.22 ***

3.20 pm - bought this lor Mee from Tim Won coffee shop via shopeefood to use up a MYR 4 discount voucher for at least MYR 10 purchase amount. Before pouring in the broth. Just look at the crispy pork lard cubes on top of the lor Mee.

After pouring in the gravy. Both of us shared this noodle as a snack in between meals. Dark vinegar is provided too to be added by the customer. It has been quite a long time that we haven't eaten light lor Mee broth so we drank all the egg drops gravy and finished eating all the soft thick fat lor noodles and vege pork slices ingredients.

I have around 6 evouchers for MYR 4 off a minimum purchase of MYR 10 for shopeefood that are expiring in a few days so I will try to use them up by ordering from eateries nearby. With foc delivery fees, this lor Mee costs MYR 6.50 nett only after discounts.

*** Sunday 19.jun.22 ***

1.20 pm - the 3jc mihun bought on Friday, two days ago from Mountain Hill that he kept for me. I like that the mihun is very soft and it is very flavourful too.

6 pm - his dinner of fish paste mihun soup from the Kampar stall. I watched the seller prepare the clumps of fish paste by using a spoon to scoop out some fish paste from a container filled with fish paste and flinging the fish paste from the spoon into the boiling broth to form a solid cooked clump of fish paste. I ate one fish paste and one slice of bean curd sheet. Taste ok.

Chicken Rice by Yan

On Saturday 18.jun.22, didn't go out, just ordered 1 Foodpanda delivery, 2 shopeefood deliveries and 1 grabfood delivery so distributed the deliveries to all 3 main food delivery apps.

*** Dinner ***

5.21 pm - shared dinner of sweet and sour chicken with rice. I like the tender pieces of chicken meat because there are no fatty bits and the many pieces of chicken meat are lightly coated with a very thin layer of batter. It has green capsicums, red capsicums, onions, tomatoes and cucumber wedges. I like the sweet sourish tomato gravy too. Will order this meal again.

I believe Chicken Rice by Yan is the same as Yan's Kitchen. Both eateries operate out of the Ipoh chicken rice eatery in Sri Petaling.

4.30 pm - place the order for dinner with foc delivery fees, a discount voucher of MYR 4 for at least MYR 10 food and redeemed some shopee coins, the price is only MYR 11.71 which is a good price because there are many pieces of chicken meat in this meal.

Before this, ordered loh Mee from Tim Won eatery using shopeefood too for MYR 6.50 with foc delivery fees.

*** Elderlies' Lunch ***

11 am - ordered lunch for the Elderlies. One fish is for us. After he ate lunch at 11.45 am, he delivered fish 2, the omelettes and the rice to the elderlies so MYR 74 for 4 pax making it about MYR 18.50 per pax.

4.30 pm - my portion of lunch. I didn't eat any rice with it.

*** Elderlies' Dinner ***

4.20 pm - the Elderlies requested dinner of pork stomach pepper soup, plum sauce pork knuckles with rice from Chok Kar Chong eatery so ordered it using Grabfood to be delivered directly to them because I can only find this eatery on grabfood and there is a 50% discount.

Mountain Hill Stalls

On Friday 17.jun.22, we went to some stalls located under a roadside shed called Restoran Mountain Hill. It is diagonally opposite the Lo Faro Caffe that NuxV recommended the grilled chicken chop in her post here.

The address of Mountain Hill roadside shed is:
Taman Serangkai, 58200 Kuala Lumpur

Location of Restoran Mountain Hill

Food bought:

10.14 am - steamed village chicken rice with liver, gizzard, char siew and siew yuk MYR 16 nett. The chicken rice has a very aromatic appetising oil smell. We shared this rice for brunch.

11.19 am - half eaten ckt with kway teow mix yellow noodles. It is not oily so I like it but he says the beansprouts are too soft due to them being cooked for too long.

2.06 pm - shared pork mihun MYR 8 with innards. The soup is a light pork broth with fried garlics and shallots. We kept the 3jc soup mihun MYR 8 from the same stall for the next day's breakfast.

6.10 pm - fish paste wantons, fish balls and fish cake mihun for dinner. I ate a bit to get the taste. The soup has a bit of preserved tong choy taste. Can't remember how much it costs. Should be around MYR 8 I believe.

Buttermilk Prawns

On Thursday 16.jun.22, he and kid 1 accompany the elderly to the regular eyes checkup at the public hospital from 8.30 am to 1 pm so ordered 3 shopeefood deliveries.

*** Tastylicious Dim Sum ***

Wed 15.jun.22 2 pm - ordered buttermilk prawns for the Elderlies before but I don't know what it tastes like so I ordered it to try knowing that he wouldn't be able to eat it due to the buttermilk. The taste is melted butter and it also has a bit of salted egg yolk taste which I guess they did add salted egg yolk to it. There are 10 prawns so I ate them in two days. When the gravy solidified in the fridge, the texture is smooth like white chocolate and tastes like butter chocolate so I ate them cold in the solid form. As this dish has quite high fat content I won't order it again for myself and also not for the Elderlies. The curry leaves and red chilli help to break the monotonous taste of the buttermilk gravy. I guess many people would like the taste of this rich buttermilk prawns. They also have buttermilk curry prawns where they add curry to this buttermilk prawns. Have you tried buttermilk prawns?

Also bought egg tarts and salted egg yolk prawns which I have bought twice previously.

MYR 12 off in total with a pickup discount.

*** Thu 16.jun.22 ***

4.10 pm - after eating the rich buttermilk prawns and the gravy, I ordered a sour ice lime tea drink from Pin Tea with least sugar to break down the fatty food in my stomach.

Also ordered white peach oolong tea MYR 10.90 with add on pin ball aka translucent QQ jellies MYR 2.20 to reach MYR 25 to get MYR 7.50 off via shopeefood.

11.50 am - ordered 3 packs of roast chicken rice for the Elderlies and his lunch. After deducting all discounts and shopee coins, it is about MYR 6.11 per pack of chicken rice inclusive of delivery fees which is a good price.

3.40 pm - bought his Salmon curry bento dinner from Chatto with MYR 10 off and free shopee food delivery so the price is MYR 16.40 which is a good price. I ate just one cube of fried salmon and 2 pieces each of the potatoes and carrots in the curry gravy since I am still full from the buttermilk prawns.

Now I prefer to use Shopeefood than Foodpanda because Shopeefood will show the contact details of the rider after the rider has been assigned whereas Foodpanda will only do so after the rider has picked up the food so for Foodpanda we don't know whether a rider has been assigned to the order or not. Grabfood is similar to shopeefood but I have more vouchers discounts in shopeefood. I will use grabfood for eateries such as Mr. Wu eatery which I can only find in the grabfood app amongst the 3 apps.
