Nepal Cuisine

I was in the heart of KL city near Central Market when I saw this eatery called Mandala.  The address is: No.18 First Floor, Jalan Medan Pasar, KL.

It serves cuisine of Nepal. Anyone adventurous enough to try?

A must-try is their Dhido Set. Dhido is a traditional food of Nepal which is eaten as the main meal. It is made by boiling hot water and continuously mixing and stirring flours of corn and other grains like buckwheat and millet.

Another must-try is momo which is steamed dumpling with fillings. The shape of the dumplings look like sui gao but the fillings are cooked with spices which taste different from sui gao. I wonder whether or not I will get to try these dishes one day.

  2. I would try if I had the chance! I would skip dishes that have cheese in it though.

  3. I would try the dhido. From the way u described how it is made, it sounds like some African ugali (their type of porridge that is made of flour) but I think it would look/taste differently. I have eaten momo before in Nepal and it taste good, just like sui gao with spices...yummmmzzz
