Fav Beef Mee

Then in the evening around 4 pm, we went to Yong Kang Beef Noodle (永康牛肉麵) for my favourite beef noodles. Since we were still a bit full, all the food that we ordered are for sharing. A bowl of plain noodle in just the broth and nothing else for NTD 120 (MYR 16.10 at the exchange rate of NTD 100 - MYR 13.40).

A bowl of beef shank and tendons without the noodles for NTD 240 (MYR 32.15). There are about 5 pieces of beef shank meat and 4 pieces of tendon.

Just look at the tendon like tissues in between the meat. They are so tender that they just melt in the mouth.

Since I can't get to them now, just looking at the glistening tendon parts is enough to feel them melting in my mouth.

My must-order - 粉蒸排骨- Rice powder steamed pork ribs - slightly spicy. The pork ribs are coated with rice and steamed - very tasty! NTD 120 (MYR 16.10). There is a version with big intestines instead of pork ribs which is said to be even tastier but I don't dare to try.

Under the pork ribs are these soft sweet potatoes. Total bill for 2 pax is NTD 480 (MYR 64.30) and we did not need to eat dinner after all the meals we had for this one day in Taipei.

  1. I quite enjoy Taiwan beef noodles sometimes for a change but I prefer our clear soup ones.
